OH MY GOODNESS is it freezing out and we still got a few more days as this WHOLE week is meant to be super cold! You know I really don’t know how people who live in places that are always majority of the time cold do it, although I prefer to be cold then hot….I wouldn’t live in a place that’s always freezing, just like I wouldn’t live in a place that’s always hot! I need to be in a place that has both the balance of cold and hot, but not to the extreme, just a nice warm place that has the mix of both Spring time weather and Fall time weather!
Those are probably the only two seasons that I could live in with no problem….I guess if I were to say what the best thing about Winter is, it would have to be that fact that you get to warm up with it, you know have a nice warm beverage, pull the covers over you that kind of thing…..but if I were to go based off seasonal things I enjoy about Winter…..I’d say getting to see the snow, I mean I’m sure we all like watching it fall down the first few times we see it, it’s the aftermath of it being a pain to shovel that most people don’t like, but you can always have a snowball fight it which is fun!
I also like the fact that you’re able to just chill and relax with the Winter season you don’t have to do a lot, I guess just the thought of having to go somewhere in the cold is what isn’t the most favorite thing about it, but I always enjoy getting to wear winter clothes to keep warm, I like being warm so anything that allows me to do that I’ll always count as a bonus, I know that there’s some good things to Winter as well, it’s just whenever the temperature decides to drop and you’re feeling that very cold air, yeah that’s when you wish for the warm weather to start coming around, but I will admit that it’s got it’s perks too so can’t really complain, I’ll just always have mixed feelings with the Winter season, but I will continue to do my best to appreciate the good parts of it just as much!
I know this ones a bit a short one, but hopefully it was still good in it’s own way! Take care, stay safe and keep warm cause it’s only going to get colder outside so be sure to bundle up real nice!
Okay so it’s not really a manic Monday, I just wanted to quote The Bangles song, I went to double check to make sure it was The Bangles I was quoting….we’re good, Good Morning by the way! Hope everyone is enjoying their 4 day weekend, I say 4 because everyone knows once Friday hits, it’s automatically considered an extra weekend, I’ll never understand why we only have 2 days during the weekend, like we have a full week to be as productive and busy, if you like busy as you can be and then the only rest time you have is Saturday and Sunday!? No wonder everyone adds Friday to the weekend days!
I remember when I was younger I’d always think “If there was an extra day added to the weekend and we had 8 days of the week instead of 7, what would we name it!?” and I would try and come up with some weird name for it, but it never felt right, although I do like mashing up words together, but it was very hard coming up with a third day to the weekend and trying to figure out a name for it, so I guess making the rule that Friday is both apart of the week and weekend, I’d say that was a good call, we don’t always need more days in the week, 7 is just fine!!
I hope that those celebrating Labor Day are having a nice relaxing day, if you’re out and about running errands or maybe you’re on a nice vacation, I hope you’re enjoying yourself and that it’s not too hectic, I mean we all know how holidays can get right!? If you don’t celebrate Labor day, I just hope everyone is having a good day overall and that it’s going well for you! I got up at my usual time this morning which is around 8am and I sat outside for about an hour, did you know that during the earliest mornings, you’ll find that it’s the most peaceful!? Especially during a holiday, it’s true!
If you ever go outside, be it for a walk, or just to get some fresh air, just take a moment to listen to everything, without saying a word….you’ll be amazed to how nice it sounds! Sometimes we don’t really have a lot of time to enjoy the day because we’re always doing something, always busy, but when we finally do, it’s important that we take advantage and do our best to embrace certain moments, even if it is to just listen to the birds and see them fly by, maybe hear the cicadas sing loud during the fall, even though they’re only supposed to be around for the summer, but hey I guess they stick around for longer after a while…..but however you choose to enjoy the day, don’t forget to just take in a bit of fresh air and have a listen to what’s around you!
So apparently it’s National Relaxation Day…..I didn’t know that until I went onto Twitter to see Nintendo themselves posting about it with an Animal Crossing post earlier…..you’d think that it’d be easy to relax especially during the weekend, I mean that’s normally when people relax, chill and enjoy themselves, but sometimes relaxation feels like a whole task to master…..there’s moments where I can get into a relaxed state and then quickly I find myself becoming a little uneasy, it sounds a little weird, but I don’t really know how to relax if I’m being honest!
This has got to be one of my most un relaxed weekends that I have had in a very long time…it’s probably my most sleepless weekend too, I’ve just been full of a lot of thoughts lately and I’ve been trying to put them all to the side and not think so much, but it’s not really been easy, I’m not trying to complain by the way….that’s just how I’ve been feeling
All that said, my weekend hasn’t been a bad weekend, it’s just not been my favorite in terms of not being able to relax or sleep properly, other than that it’s okay…..I wish that I had more to say in this post, but I honestly cannot think at all so I’m just going to keep this one short…..I think I’m going to take a couple of days off from writing for a bit, I don’t know, I may not at the same time, although I feel I maybe should just to until I feel better, in terms of energy,
I feel I’ve been going on low energy for a bit now so depending how I feel will determine if I write often, It might not be for as long as I think so if I don’t write tomorrow, I may write Tues and if not Tuesday then Wednesday there is something I have in mind that I want to record for a podcast this week so whatever day that is, I’ll also do a post, I’ll try not to stay away too long, but if I feel that I’m not in the best headspace then I’ll have to allow myself to take the time that is needed before I come back here even though I’ll probably fight with myself on it, we’ll see what happens!
I hope you guys have a good rest of the night and that you’re enjoying your relaxation and that you’re all okay, see you soon!
Here’s my latest podcast episode if you guys want to check it out: *quick update…..I missed spelled the name of the artist, I fixed it, but some of it is still there…sorry lol*
I can’t believe it! New Horizons has came to a year of being released…..I remember watching the trailer for this game and how excited I was knowing we were getting another Animal Crossing game, the last game in the series was New Leaf and when Nintendo announced we would be getting a whole new experience with it I couldn’t wait to play it!! Originally it was thought to come out back in 2019, but it ended up being delayed and pushed back to 2020 of March on the 20th, when learning that my first thought was…..it would’ve been cool if it was in February, because then it would’ve came out February 20th, 2020 (2/20/20) that would’ve been something….March wasn’t a bad month for it to come out either, don’t worry I’m not complaining or anything, I just thought it would’ve been cool that’s all!
Knowing that we were getting a New Animal Crossing game was the important thing, I’ve been a fan of this game for a very long time, played it on the Gamecube, Wii, 3DS and now I’m enjoying it on the Switch and I couldn’t be any happier, I love the game, it’s one of my all time favorites, it’s my top played game actually haha!! I also got two Islands, so you know it’s a favorite of mine.
(I haven’t quite been on my second Island in a hot minute….I’ve got my reasons okay nothing against the game or my villagers there…I just think it was time to focus on my main Island, plus I both wanted and needed to give it a bit of love sooo)
Back to the post…although the game came out on March 20th of last year, I didn’t start playing the game until April so while most people played it on release day….I started on my Island a month after, but everyone plays at different stages so it’s allll right! To know that it’s already been a full year of this game, is insane, there’s a lot that I have enjoyed with it and playing it for a longer period of time after a while, there’s also a couple of things that I’d say could be improved on now that I’ve played it long enough, however I won’t get to it here, this post is more talking on the good stuff, the celebration of it being a year of gameplay for everyone, as much as I would love to say it all here….I’m gonna wait on it, because I’ve got a better and fun idea for it, some of you might already know and if not you’ll soon see!!
Animal Crossing: New Horizons so far, has been very good, it came to us in a time that we really needed it, with the whole Pandemic being a big issue that we had to take precaution on, everyone was put on lockdown and we weren’t able to come out of our houses for a long while unless we really needed something of course and with not being able to be around friends/certain family members or being able to go to certain places, most of us became bored out of our minds, not only that, but it just became really tough to get through after a while, not being able to leave our houses, in fear of not knowing what would happen or even knowing the risks…..
So for New Horizons to release in the time it did and become our little escape from what was/still is our reality and be that light to help us get through all of this, it couldn’t have dropped at a better time!! Even people who never played, let alone probably never heard of the game, even they grabbed a copy and gave it a try and some of them even became fans out of it, it brought together old and new communities and helped people to de stress and relax for a couple of hours without the worry!! They got to experience something new from it, heck people who were already a fan, like myself got to experience something different with the whole Island introduction of it, making the island how you want (with some limits) but also getting to see the different things that were added that we never had before until this game, so there’s just a lot to thank this version of Animal Crossing for, because in the era that we were forced to be in, this game this game became our Savior in making sure we didn’t lose our heads and allowed us to focus on something a lot nicer and positive for a while!!
Yeah it’s got it’s moments where you get a little frustrated with it, mainly when terraforming and other things, but it’s still a pretty great game overall and I’m glad we have it, so Happy 1 year Anniversary New Horizons, thank you for being our enjoyment and the escape that we needed during this crazy era that 2020 brought, may you continue to bring us great things with this game, now that you’ve got updates!!
Yes I know the anniversary was yesterday, but I didn’t get a chance to write on it and that’s why I’m doing it today, it’s only a day late, it’s the weekend of it, better late than never right!?
Episode 2 of my podcast is now up….it took me a bit to get it up, due to having to re record and look it over, it’s pretty much a part 2 to this post, but this time I give my thoughts on some of my favorite features that’s been added to the game, discuss what I feel needs a little improvement and also give a Wishlist to what I would like to see added in future updates, if you would like to check it out, you can take a listen here: Let’s Talk: 1 Year of Animal Crossing New Horizons
Happy Friday Everyone!! Hope you all are doing well and have had a good week and day, my day was okay, not too bad, since we’re at the end of the week I thought let’s talk upon the topic of meditation.
Disclaimer:This was the post I was talking about guys, here’s the heads up!!
Back to the post, meditation what is it!? Well if you ask me, I would have to look up the actually definition of it to have a better understanding of, but for the most part it’s pretty much just a way of relaxing, clearing the mind, body all that jazz!! It’s a good way to destress, so they say and by they I mean people who actually meditate, now I said in my last post that i’d tell you about the times I tried meditation, which I will, right now so you guys don’t have to wait too long, the first time I tried mediating……
I wasn’t sure if I was doing it right and I found it a little weird while I was doing it, a lot of things are pretty weird to me these days to be honest, the first time I tried it, I watched a 5 minute meditation video and it was one of those guided meditation videos, you know where they talk you through it telling you to breathe in and out and to focus on your breathing and so on.
Again it was only 5 mins, but for a 5 min video it did take a bit of time to get through, the reason I feel I didn’t do it right is because, I know with meditation you’re supposed to relax, but I am terrible at relaxing which i’m sure you all know by now, I was trying to follow along and really listen to the voice and what they were saying, meditation isn’t hard, but it also is…..
When meditating you have to learn to clear your mind and relax both the mind and body so that way it works, but with me, well I don’t meditate often for one, this was kinda my first time really trying it out, i’ve never really done a guided meditation before that’s why it felt so weird also when it comes to clearing of the mind…….i’m not the greatest with it at all,
I’ll still have thoughts just swarming around my head, so trying the guided meditation where they talk you through it, yeah it didn’t really help all that much, I wasn’t chilled out or relaxed after listening to it, however listening to mediation music without the talking, has helped to keep me calm…..for the most part anyway, I still have moments where even when i’m listening to some kind of meditation music or atmospherical music that is calming, I still go in and out of intense emotions, stress anxiety things like that.
I just don’t really know how to stop thinking that’s my only problem, I think too much and I don’t allow myself to relax mentally and just in general, but after a while I slowly turn my focus on the music and what i’m doing, be it reading, doodling and sometimes writing, when it comes to writing I mainly do it in silence because it’s the only way I know how to focus on it and when it comes to everything else, I try and zone out for the time being so I don’t go and drive myself mad with all the thinking and everything in between.
Point of story, meditation is good, you just gotta allow yourself to relax and just not worry about everything else for a bit, it’s not easy to do and if your a thinker like I am, it’ll take some time getting use to, but i’d say if you’re having a hard time relaxing, just take your time with it,
Slowly find your way through, for some people it takes longer to relax, but you have to allow yourself to relax, otherwise you won’t, believe me!! If you work better having someone talk to you, try a guided meditation if you relax better when there’s little noise meditation music should help, I recommend the atmospheric kind, but you can just chose what you like, which ever works best for you, however way you’re able to relax go for it.
I’m still getting the hang out what meditation is and finding the best way to relax, i’ve listened to a few good meditation songs already and just calming music in general as background noise, ones without words and are hours long and when I say hours I mean 3-11, well the one I was listening to yesterday is about 11 hours, almost 12 (11 hours, 55 mins and 01 second)
Although that’s very long, it’s a nice one!! Now i’m going to be honest here, you need a lot of patience meditating, if you aren’t the patient kind, I don’t know if quiet meditation will be the thing for you, you might find other things that help you relax and that’s fine, everyone has their way of relaxing, but I still think having calm music in the background for a bit
Can really help to put you in a relaxing mode, even if it’s just playing while you’re doing something else, but again however way you relax is fine!!
I think that’s all I have for you guys on this post, i’m going to be honest, I don’t even know how I wrote all this, my brain right now is pretty much done for the day, it’s so done that my words aren’t matching up properly when I speak, which i’m doing as i’m writing this, the only thing that my brain is able to do is make me sing a song that I heard earlier today and is now stuck in my head, it’s a good song so i’m not too bothered about it!!
All The Love ❤ ❤
P.S.I want to share a doodle, before I post this, but I don’t have one now, well I do, but I kinda want to create a new one, so what I will do is, i’m going to post this and doodle away and then tomorrow I will update this post and share it with you guys once it’s done, either that or i’ll choose a random one I already have, but until then I shall leave this…..
Insert Doodle Here: Update I have now shared the doodle that I wanted, I had to outline it before I posted, still have decided on any colors yet, hopefully something pops up, if you guys have any suggestions go on and share them if you like, i’ll write a post on a few of my doodles so far once i’ve brighten them up with colors, hope you all are having a good day!! ^_^
So recently i’ve been listening to some meditation music, you know the kind that’s meant to help you relax and zone out for a while, for the most part it does calm things down, I mainly listen to it when i’m doodling or reading or when I want to drown any other noise out around me, some are good and even have a few favorites, others I can only listen to them for a short period of time and slightly over, meditation music is pretty,
Although I enjoy the atmospheric ones the most, but regular meditation music is good too, you’d be surprised on how many there actually are!! You go and look up a specific kind based on mood and that and i’m telling you you’ll find and have a whole list and more to choose from, it’s insane!! There’s literally a category for everything, you’ll never run out of options.
I listened to one today, I was thinking a lot and had things in my mind, I did get them out by writing a bit, it wasn’t anything feeling wise, well not particularly that anyway, it was more me thinking of someone, so I wrote something, but I haven’t posted it, it’s kinda just written down thoughts that was in my mind, but I looked up some meditation music to help calm down,
There was a lot of options again, I ended up going back and forth on a few, until I settled for a specific one, the one I chose was supposed to help clear the mind and keep you from overthinking as well as help reduce anxiety, it was working, the only thing I would recommend when listening to it is,
Just listen to it, grab a book, sketchbook, coloring book anything that is keeping you distracted or at least occupied for the time being and put it on in the background and zone out, make sure you don’t go doing something else while it’s playing that might heighten stress levels and that, because then it won’t work, with meditation music you have to be relaxed in order for it to do it’s job correctly, so that’s the only recommendation I have.
Other than that you should be fine, choose one that works best for you or best with your mood, however you want and just enjoy!! That’s all I have for now, this isn’t the post that I was talking about yesterday that i’d post, but it does have to do with meditation, it’s pretty much the same, but i’m talking about meditation music and not meditation itself, that post will be tomorrow, i’ll make sure to talk about it fully from when I tried it.
What’s your favorite kind of meditation music, do you prefer regular kind, nature sounds or the atmospheric “spacey” kind!?
