Now Playing: Death Of Me By PVRIS (Aug 7, 2019)

I guess we’re having a PVRIS theme today, because I can not get their songs out of my head, this morning when making toast and coffee I was singing they’re song Holy to myself and now i’m finding myself humming to their song What’s Wrong…..so with that, looks like i’ll be writing about them today, lucky they recently came out with a new single, so I think i’ll take upon this opportunity to give my thoughts on it and talk about them a bit.

Now just to give you guys a heads up, I kinda already went and listened to the song this past Sunday night and wrote down my thoughts to it in one of my journals as I was listening to it, so this is going to be one of those song review kind of posts, everything that I wrote down in my journal,

Majority of those notes and thoughts will be in this post, I might change some stuff as i’m going along that I hadn’t written down already, adding stuff to it and maybe changing certain things as well, I don’t know, but as i’m writing, it should come together, but yeah just a heads up on that!!

I won’t stall anymore, kidding that was just an introduction, but on to my thoughts and reaction to the song, in written form…..hope this works…..

Quick Note: It took me 3 weeks, after the release of the song just to listen to it, again 3 weeks!! I waited to hear this, yeah……alright….

Review starting in 3…2…1….LET’S GO!!

Song starts: We’re in the beginning of the song and I didn’t expect it to start off as a dance song…..a bit confusing, knowing how a PVRIS song is, I wouldn’t have expected it to have this kind of groove to it…….i’m intrigued with it though so far…..(reaction 21 seconds into the song)

Went back to the beginning to re listen properly, because the start of the song reminded me of their other song Holy from their album White Noise, listen to the start of it carefully, it’s in the kick of the drum to where it sorta sounds like it, but after a while you start to hear it come into it’s own sound, it’s pretty cool, it’s like a good memory……(reaction 1 second into the song, going back to the beginning)

Quick Journal Note: I think at this point I paused it, because in my journal I wrote nervous yet excited as I was listening to the song and I was……then I talked about how I haven’t heard any of the Jonas Brothers new songs yet,

Mind you they’re one of my favorite bands that I grew up on and their songs have been out for a good few months now, so you’d think that’d be the first band i’d listen to……nope I went and checked out PVRIS new song instead of theirs, that came out 3 weeks ago……priorities!!

Don’t worry I already decided that i’m going to be listening to them finally sometimes this week, maybe Friday so everyone calm down, relax it’s cool!!

Back to the song……I had to re look at my notes to figure out if I was in the beginning or middle of the song, it’s still the beginning because I went back before…..(reaction 26 seconds into the song) liking the lyrics so far, normally I tend to focus on the lyrics to a song, because it’s the part that I feel draws you in, but with this song, my focus is on the rhythm and beat of it, which is new……it’s good though…..we’re at the chorus now and THERE GOES PVRIS!!

I knew the PVRIS usual style would kick in at some point, it only took close to a minute in…..which is fine i’m not saying that’s wrong. (reaction 56 seconds into the song) I like the second verse line of the chorus “One man’s hell is another’s god, it’s all about perspective or parallax.”

Their writing style continues to get me, like seriously how do they do it!? I don’t know (reaction 1.27 seconds into the song) like the bridge part, real groovy, I really like the build up towards the next lines involving the chorus it just comes in nicely, love it!!

From this point I didn’t really write anything else about the song, because it had finished, I did write my overall thoughts to the song though, which I will share in a moment, right abooout……..NOW!!

OKAY, my overall and final thoughts of the song…..I didn’t like it…..no i’m kidding, my whole written reaction would literally counter me saying that…

Final Thoughts: I liked it!! I mean it, I have no bad words to say on it, was it different to what i’m used to or was expecting from PVRIS!?

Hell yeah, but it’s still good!! Now that being said I know a lot of people may not feel the same way and not like it as much or maybe they will who knows, my thoughts on the song however is that I genuinely enjoyed it very much, again it wasn’t what I was expecting, but it still worked for me,

I liked that they went more dance with this, but still gave us the usual PVRIS style edge that they have to them. Every time I hear a PVRIS song it always amazes me, because they’re just great, the way they put things together when it comes to their music is fascinating, I can’t explain it…..I just love them!! I thought the lyrics were great, Lynn’s voice is always great!!

It was actually very interesting the way she decided to go about singing this song, a lot of people, including myself, expected to hear that intensity power that she normally, not always, but most times has to her voice, you know that aggressiveness that you would normally hear from her, however we didn’t hear that style to her voice in this, which again was very interesting….

Her soft voice though too is lovely, I wasn’t expecting her to keep her voice in the middle though and when I say middle, I mean as leveled as she had it, but it was nice, I really enjoyed it!!

To me I still think she does give us that soft and intense voice in the song, it’s just not as fully turned up to how she normally would have it which is nice, I like that she did it differently this time around, it doesn’t always have to be fully on, it can be evened out at times and even if this song was full on, it would still be great, because PVRIS is great!!

However way Lynn decides to sing her songs, doesn’t really matter to me because i’m going to enjoy it either way……you know, I don’t think i’ve heard a PVRIS song I didn’t like……hopefully it stays that way, but if it ever came down to the point where I came across a bad PVRIS song…..i’d express it, but so far they’re songs have been pretty good and i’ve enjoyed each one, but yeah those are my thoughts for PVRIS’s new single Death Of Me!!

Now I did write something on their music video as well, after I listened to the song, but I don’t think it’s really that interesting so I think i’m going to leave it out of this post, I might post my actual notes from my journal about the song and music video later, probably on my social media…..maybe, we’ll see, but that’s all my thoughts on the song.

Definitely go and have a listen to their new single, it is pretty catchy, the groove to it is really great as well and I think some of you might enjoy it, maybe not all, but some of you might who knows……i’ll leave it just in case you’re curious and want to it hear it: Death Of Me (Lyric Video)

Be sure to go and watch the music video for it as well, PVRIS tend to have a way with their music videos, there’s always some kind of special meaning behind it, to where, I wouldn’t even begin to be able to tell you it…..it’s something you’ll have to see yourself to figure out and come up with your own interpretations for, I couldn’t come up with anything, but it was very interesting i’ll tell you that, but I liked it!! Death Of Me (Music Video)

If you’re wondering the best way to listen to the song, I would suggest, watching the lyric video for it first so you can follow the lyrics and then go and watch the music video after, so you can see how it works with the song and maybe try to interpret the meaning behind it, that’s how I did it, but you could listen to it any way you want really, it’s just a suggestion.

I hope you’re all having a good day and doing alright and I hope you guys enjoy the song and music video, thanks for reading!! ^_^

Dream Journal: Concerts & Squelette (December 7, 2018)

Hey there everyone I hope you’re all well………….okay so this is another dream journal blog post, I wanted to share a dream I had last night with you guys because I found it to be very interesting, i’m just gonna go straight into it and tell you all the things that I remember about the dream……..okay here we go:

Here’s what I remember: So i’m not sure how I got there exactly, but the setting was at a concert and I feel I was there with someone else, but i’m not sure who exactly…….I remember being outside like in one those halls where you enter before going to watch the  concert or something, you know like when you walk into a movie theater (Cinema) entrance, anyway so I was out in a hall somewhere I believe and I was looking at who was gonna be playing at the concert I was at. Now i’m not sure whether I was looking at this board in front of me because I was trying get tickets or if I was just curious on who else was gonna be playing!?

There were a lot of people that were listed to be playing in the dream, but there were only two acts I remember very vividly seeing and those two acts were, one of my favorite bands that I love talking about any chance I get, the band PVRIS  and also this other group that i’ve never heard of, they had a very interesting band name though……like if you were looking at it for the first time you wouldn’t quite know how to pronounce it, that’s how weird the name was and when I say weird it’s in a good way.

Again never heard of this band  before, but was kinda interested to see what they were about, also I forgot to say this part, but in the dream every person on the board list of who was playing, were all sold out including PVRIS……but it’s okay no worries, however the only band that wasn’t sold out, was the hard to pronounce band, now you’re probably wondering what’s the bands name right!? Don’t worry i’ll tell you, in the dream they went by the name Squelette, now I just want to let you know that I didn’t remember the whole name when I woke up from the dream, you should’ve seen me this morning trying to figure it out, I only remembered certain letters to the name, which were S Q U E which you can see there’s 3 E’s & 2 T’S, the L yeah……..didn’t stay in my mind, but I had the other ones down pretty nicely.

I was inside the concert now and my favorite band PVRIS were there, only I think they had just finished their act and went on to introduce the next one which was the unknown band, I remember the lighting in the concert was like……..there was some pinks, or maybe purple and reds happening, something like that anyway…….I was in the crowd and there was a lot of people actually there, I wasn’t super up close, but I could see everything pretty alright in the dream…….After PVRIS introduced the band, I remember seeing this lady with black hair walking up the stage and as she was walking up a few more people who i’m guessing were  the other band members, walked up as well (Ending of Dream)

That was the last thing I remember, I never got to hear them play in the dream, I just saw them and then I woke up. Okay so here’s where it kinda gets both interesting and weird at the same time……..so after waking up, I was trying to figure out what that dream meant especially the name of the band, I went and looked up concert dreams and what they mean and then after looking that up, I tried to look for the name or word that I saw in my dream with the letters that I could remember and you won’t believe what came up!!

Hear this, so i’m looking up the name and I see a word that felt familiar to what was in my dream, so I clicked on it and as you already know because I said it earlier, that name/word was Squelette, I looked it up to see if it was a real thing and it was, I then found out Squelette is French for “Skeleton”…………interesting right!? Well here’s where it gets more interesting. Once I saw that it mean Skeleton and that it was a real word, I said to myself “Okay…….that’s weird” I then got curious and went to see if there was a band named Squelette just like in my dream………didn’t really expect to find anything at all, I was just looking out of curiosity, but I ended up finding something and that something was……..there is actually a band, that go by that name……..not kidding!!

Now in the dream I mentioned there was a lady with black hair, I couldn’t really see her because in the dream I wasn’t that close, I was like middle back row, but wasn’t too far at the same time. I’m not really sure if they had an instrument or not, but I went to see if there was a photo of the band and there was (there were also photo’s of skeletons too, but that’s not important) the first picture I saw was just 3 guys (actually I just looked back at it, not 3 guys, just 2) you want to know who the other person was though!? Yep you guessed it, A LADY. WITH BLACK. HAIR, just like in my dream………..saw another photo of that same band and yeah………THERE’S ACTUALLY A LADY WITH BLACK HAIR THAT’S IN THE BAND…………WHAT!!!?

Now I know what you’re probably thinking, “that could’ve been any girl with black hair and it’s probably some random band” yeah you’d be right, but I don’t know………it just seems like too much of a coincidence, like it’s weird………I dream about a band with a weird name, I look up that name which turns out to be a real thing and is french for skeleton, then I check to see if there’s a band with that same name, turns out there is and there’s a lady in the band with black hair, just like in my dream………….HOW!? tell me how, because I don’t know, it’s just really weird.

Maybe it is just some random band, who knows……..it’s probably just me, but then again it doesn’t feel like that, it feels like something else, like I just dreamt of an actual band from a different country and place, but never heard of them before!? It felt real, but again maybe it’s just me.

Have you ever had a dream like this, where certain details in it, turn out to be an actual thing in real life!? I don’t know how else to word it, let me know in the comments below if you have though.

Just Chatting Away

Hey everyone I hope you’re all doing alright, okay so just to give you a heads up, i’m very tired, but I will give you guys a post before going to sleep, don’t you worry. Right now it’s around 11:30pm so close to midnight as i’m writing this, I don’t know why I tend to wait this late to write at times, but it’s happening, this isn’t gonna be a very long post I don’t think…….i’m gonna do my best to make sure it’s not. Now i’m not really sure what to write about here for you guys, I could write about my day, but there wasn’t really all that much to it, I just pretty much did the things I always do.

My day was a bit weird earlier though, I don’t know why, but I became very anxious for some reason out of nowhere, I didn’t wake up feeling that way, it sorta just hit me randomly, I calmed myself down though, but it did appear a few times throughout my day, i’m okay now though, I was just having a weird day is all, but i’m fine now.

What else can I tell you!? Oh I might have something worth sharing, so I was watching this video earlier and it was on one of my favorite bands, you know the one, yes PVRIS. I was watching one of their live shows and Lynn Gunn was singing one of her songs off their album All We Know Of Heaven, All We Need Of Hell, the song that she performed is called What’s Wrong but she did a stripped down version of it, so instead of singing it the original way, she sang it with just the Piano and her voice. Long story short, she was towards the ending of the song and in the song she sings the line “No I never sold my soul”

Now when she sings that line, she repeats it a couple times in the song, so she sings the lines a couple times and after she sang it, she asked the audience to sing along, and get this………….okay so you know how we all have things that bother us, it can be the smallest of things, but we’ll make it a little bit bigger than what it is, because there’s just something about it that just drives you a little mad and this, this is just one of those things that drove me mad………..So she tells them to sing along to the song…………and guess what they did, yeah that’s right…….NOTHING, NOT ONE SINGLE LINE WAS SUNG WITH LYNN!!!………I know you’re probably like “okay why is that a big deal!?” You want to know why, i’ll tell you why, how can you go to a concert or festival and not sing along to the song!?

I JUST DON’T UNDERSTAND THAT!? I mean okay I get it if you’re new to the band and don’t really know them all that well or any of their songs, BUT IF YOU’RE THERE AS A FAN OF THE BAND OR ARTIST YOU WENT TO SEE AND YOU DON’T SING ALONG TO THE SONGS THEIR PLAYING FOR YOU, ESPECIALLY WHEN THEIR ASKING YOU TO JOIN IN AND SING ALONG……….WHY ARE YOU THERE FOR!? Like you know what I mean!? I just don’t get it, like okay maybe I am over reacting a bit and who knows, maybe some of them we’re still learning the song, but still.

I enjoy going to concerts or being at events where the crowd is apart of the show. Like I can’t believe i’m bringing this up……….but I was at Disney on Ice, with my mom and little cousin, last week I believe and obviously there were kids there and one of the parts to the show was Frozen………now i’m not a HUGE fan of Frozen, it’s okay, but when the song Let It Go came on………….you should’ve heard the crowd it…..was…..beautiful hearing all the kids in the arena and maybe even parents I don’t know, it was wonderful just hearing them sing along to the song and the feeling it brought, that was the best and when that happens at concerts or events in general where the crowd gets involved………it’s just the greatest feeling ever!!

So watching Lynn sing one of her songs in a stripped down version and her wanting the crowd to join in at a certain part of the song AND THEY DIDN’T, yeah that bothers me, I was like “someone tell me why no one is singing with Lynn!?” I also said if that was me and I was at that concert and Lynn told me to singing along………i’d sing at the top of my lungs if I had to, just because Lynn wanted me to sing with her, seriously. I guess I can’t get super upset though, I mean let’s face it we all had moments where we’ve been to a concert or an event where, we really didn’t know the song or where you see or hear everyone else cheering for something and you feel left out because you don’t actually know what it is they’re cheering for……….it happens, but I still wish some people sang along to the song though, it just makes me happy inside when everyone just joins in.

Now Playing PVRIS, Song Of The Day: Same Soul

Okay so, i’m not quite sure how long this post is gonna be, i’m hoping it’s not too long though, but we’ll see. I wasn’t quite sure what to write about today, I kinda sat looking at my computer and all around my room, trying to think and so I just went with whatever was in my head the most which so happened to be a song by one of my favorite bands, that I constantly mention I know, but for some reason I woke up with the song in my head so I thought let’s talk about the song and you know see what it’s about, shall we!?

So as you can see from the title the song that we will be touching upon today is called same soul and it’s by PVRIS (the band that never seems to leave my mouth, not that I mind, I don’t know if you guys do though…..hope not) anyway same soul I feel is a pretty self explanatory kind of song, however I also know that some people might have a different perspective as well as a different interpretation of the song which is cool because all songs with meaning always tend to leave you wondering what the song is about, especially when you have songs that are hard to get right away.

Here are the lyrics of the song Same Soul from the first verse to the chorus:

 [Verse 1]
Where does your body go when I leave you alone?
Would your heart know if I met you in a brand new set of bones?

‘Cause you may see me in different bodies
Hiding below with the same soul

[Pre-Chorus]
I could have walked by you a thousand times
Different places, different lives
I could have been someone you don’t recognize
Different figure, new design

[Chorus]
I’m just a body that you used to know
I’m just somebody that you used to know
I’m just a body that you used to know
Used to know, used to know, used to know

So as you can see, pretty self explanatory right!? Lynn Gunn the front singer of PVRIS talks about possibly meeting someone more than once to what we know, if that makes sense, just to explain it a bit more, in this she talks past lives pretty much. Now some may say that past lives isn’t really a thing, while others would most likely, maybe disagree, if you’re asking me whether I believe in the whole past lives topic, I would say that I wouldn’t completely rule it out. I mean don’t you guys ever wonder why sometimes we connect to people right away and why it is that some people we encounter can seem familiar to us!? It’s that feeling where you bump into someone and you just have this strange connection to right away, but you know even know each others names yet!?

In this song, I feel it relates to past lives, even Lynn herself talked upon past lives in a podcast. Having that thought and feeling as though you could have possibly met someone before, it really gets you thinking………a lot of us don’t really think on whether or not we had multiple lives before hand, apart from the one we are living now, I think that some of us or maybe even all of us had, however some of us can recall it very vividly then most of us, which is pretty interesting if you think about it.

Here’s the second verse and the pre chorus:

[Verse 2]
Where did your heart stay in all those years away?
Did I make your body shake?
Could you feel me riding through the airwaves?
In all those yesterdays were you always hiding below?
No, I didn’t know

[Pre-Chorus]
I think we’ve loved a thousand lives
I try to find you every time
Searching for those same wide eyes
That locked me in, in my first life
Do you remember my old names?
Recognize my other face?

This song definitely hints at being about past lives here, especially when she sings the lines of the pre-chorus, talking about loving the same person more than once and trying to recognize that person as they are now (I think we loved a thousand lives, I try to find you every time) she even sings the lines: Do you remember my old names!? Recognize my other face!? which to me SCREAMS THIS SONG IS ABOUT PAST LIVES…..ehm…sorry about that.

Now after looking at the lyrics again, I came to the thought, that maybe it’s not about past lives entirely, some parts could also be seen as maybe knowing someone from childhood, but then either you move away or they move away as kids and then one day you end up bumping into them again, but you don’t really quite recognize them at first, but once you really start to get to know them, that’s when it all comes back to you, you know them and are familiar with them because you use to be friends before.

You both see now though how much you as people, have changed since that time, so it’s kinda like you’re having a conversation with them, asking them whether they still remember that version of you, before you both grew up to be the new versions of who you are now, if that makes any sense at all, I really hope that did, I was trying so hard to word all that right as best as I could. Like I said earlier this song could be interpreted in a lot of different ways, but I feel this song is leading a whole lot toward it being about past lives, but that’s just my interpretation on it. I have no idea why I woke up to that song in my head, but hey it gave me the idea to write a blog post on this soooo, i’m happy.

Now I don’t know about you guys, but I actually felt this post to be a whole lot challenging to write about then my other posts. I didn’t think i’d ever come across the thought to write upon topics like this, although I always sometimes think about this topic and other topics of course, this is the first one to where I felt I wanted to put my thought on, but although it was challenging, I actually enjoyed writing about it because these are the kind of things that can get you really thinking, which is good if it’s stuff like this.

What was your most challenging blog post to write about, if you too had an experience like that and what’s your interpretation on the song that I just covered!? Do you believe in past lives, do you think that the only life we have is the one we’re living!? Feel free to share your thoughts if you like, I hope you all have a goodnight/morning and or evening.

If you guys are interested in hearing the song so that you can get a better interpretation on it or you just want to listen to it, you can listen to it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BmweQs1-XH8

Can’t Get You Out Of My Head (Title Inspired By A Song)

What’s going on in my head you ask!? Nothing much just random tunes playing causing me to sing them out loud, you know stuff like that, we all get that, you know you’re just minding your own business, just doing your best to be as productive as you can and then out of nowhere you’re singing a tune!? Not quite sure where it came from or why that song you’re singing is in your head, but it is and now you’re stuck singing it every few minutes. I know that this is a very random topic, but it was the only topic I could think of, plus I wasn’t sure what else to write about, sooo I chose this to be my blog post for today.

Sometimes you need a little bit of random in your life and lucky for you guys, I can bring a whole lot of random to you, whenever i’m feeling it and today is one of those days, this won’t be a long post I promise, I just wanted to share with you all, the few songs that have been playing in my brain today so I hope you don’t mind me sharing, but anyway let’s get to it shall we!? First let me tell you what band started off…..so yeah, i’m kinda in a debate state of mind with myself trying to figure out what band started it, I feel it was the band PVRIS I told you about, but then another part of me is saying that it was Fall Out Boy, so we’ll just say although I love PVRIS………I’m gonna go with Fall Out Boy, because I had one of their songs in my head the most, plus I think it might’ve been the podcast I listened to earlier that was based around them that kicked started it, soooo yeaaah.

Anyway here are the top songs that we’re stuck in my head today :

  1. Sugar We’re Goin Down & Thnks Fr Th Mmrs By Fall Out Boy
  2. St Patrick By PVRIS
  3. Dirt Road Anthem By Jason Aldean

Those we’re the top songs that we’re in my head today, not sure why either of them came to mind, but they did. The one song I was most shocked about me randomly singing though was Jason Aldean’s Dirt Road Anthem, the only reason I was shocked about it was because I hadn’t heard that song in ages, plus I didn’t know if I’d still know it, buut I did which was weird. Sometimes it’s like that where, you think you won’t remember a song especially when you haven’t heard it in a very long time and when you do remember it, it can be very surprising, but yeah that’s pretty much all I wanted to talk about really, if you want to listen to the songs i’ve mentioned, I left the links to them on top for you guys.

Feel free to share if you also had a song or 2 or 3 even which ever, stuck in your brain today or let me know what song constantly enters your mind and just sticks with you like glue on your hands, you know what i’m talking about, no matter how much you try to avoid becoming sticky from that glue, it’ll just always end up happening anyway, it’s like a magnet, but not a magnet. Anyway that is all I have for now, but I hope you all have a goodnight/morning and or evening.

Let’s Ask Some Questions Shall We: I’ll Be The Interviewer

Now you’re probably wondering where i’m going with this, hear me out!! So i’ve been watching some moments and interviews of one of my favorite bands i’ve talked about them on here before, you may remember them as the band PVRIS, I talked about how I became a fan of theirs and also about their album White Noise, if you want to read that post you can find it here: Artist Of The Month: PVRIS (Take One White Noise Album And How I Became A Fan On The Band….Sorry If That’s Cheesy)

So I was watching some of their stuff this morning and I guess it kinda gave me an idea, I actually thought about this a while ago, when I was trying to figure out what to write about and this came to mind, so I thought i’d try it out and see how it could go. I’m hoping it goes well and I’m able to learn a little bit about you guys and you could learn a bit about me if you want and just kinda make this fun, get to know each other a bit, try something new you know, it doesn’t hurt to try right!?

So i’m gonna think of 5 different questions, random question and for those reading this if you want to answer them, great, if not that’s fine as well, it’s totally up to you, I just wanted to try something different and bring something fun to you all that I really hope that you enjoy.

Here are my 5 questions for you:

Question #1: For those who write, do you listen to music while your writing!? If so what’s your go to playlist or artist that you enjoy listening to, if you don’t listen to music are there any other things you like to have as background noise or do you just enjoy no background noise at all when you write!?

Question #2: If you were in a band, what would you name your band, what would the genre of your music be and if you had to pick anyone (favorite artist, friends ect…) to be in it, who would you chose and what instruments would you have them play!?

Question #3: If you had to create the perfect (in your book) workspace whether you’re a writer, artist (musician, drawer, painter ect…) maybe you want a space just for reading, how would you create that space!?

Question #4: If you had a muse to write about (it doesn’t have to be writing, it can be anything) What would it be and how would you describe it!?

And Lastly:

Question #5: If someone came to you and said “Hey I need some advice” what kind of advice do you think they’d ask for knowing your own personality and how would you give them that advice!?

Those are all my questions, that I have for you guys, hopefully their decent questions, if any of you do look at this and consider answering them, I look forward to reading them and seeing what kind of stuff you come up with, their not really anything super special, but I thought this would be a good way to interact with some of you.

Artist Of The Month: PVRIS (Take One White Noise Album And How I Became A Fan On The Band….Sorry If That’s Cheesy)

I’ve been listening to PVRIS for a few days now and I figured since i’m constantly listening to their songs, why not write some stuff on them and share with you on how I got into them a bit. I’ve been a fan of the band for I would say about 2 years now, I  discovered them off a wrestling PPV advert (when I used to watch it)

I remember it, because it was the PPV Extreme Rules (one of my favorite PPV’s) and it was also the one where Seth Rollins returned after being gone for a year missing WrestleMania due to the fact that he was recovering from a really bad knee injury that almost ended his in ring career, but luckily it didn’t.

You might be wondering why i’m talking about the wrestler Seth Rollins, well that’s because I found the band PVRIS because of him, it’s one of his favorite bands,  I remember watching an interview that he was in and he was talking about his top  favorite songs and one of the songs on his list was the song St. Patrick by as you can probably guess PVRIS.

Now when I watched that interview I didn’t look them up right away, but once I heard their song Fire being featured as the main theme for the PPV Extreme Rules I became hooked, I searched more of their songs and that’s where I discovered their album White Noise which is incredible by the way.

Here are a few of my favorite songs off the Album:

  1. Ghost
  2. You & I (both original & stripped down version)
  3. Smoke
  4. Fire
  5. St Patrick
  6. Let Them In
  7. Mirrors
  8. My House
  9. Holy
  10. White Noise

After I listened to the songs, I added the album to my I guess wish list you can say and then eventually I went and bought it, it’s still one of my favorite albums til this day. Now this was all back in 2016, they have two different albums with White Noise, the standard one (original) came out back in 2014, but they also went and added some more songs to that album making a Deluxe version, which is the one I own.

With the Deluxe version not only did you get the songs that were on the standard White Noise (Black) album, but you also got those songs, plus 3 more songs added (there were 10 on the Black album, but on the Deluxe version there’s 13) I think you were also able to watch the music videos to the songs as well off the Deluxe version.

I’ve actually watched all the music videos from that album and they’re really good, speaking of the music videos they were very interesting, every time you would watch a different one the way it would start would be through one of those handheld mirrors and they were always in a specific order as well.

When I watched the videos though it was in a different order, I didn’t know they were mean’t to be watched a certain way, but it was still pretty cool watching the music videos and seeing how everything was gonna come out, whether the songs would go well with it and they did, really well too.

Each song is it’s own individual and when you hear them, they take you on this journey with them, it’s hard to explain what I mean, you’ll have to take a listen for yourself to understand, the whole album is amazing, it really is and so is the band. Lynn though her voice, wow, she really brings a different kind of sound to her songs and you can really hear the emotions and rawness that she brings to those songs as well, her voice to me is something you don’t quite hear often, she has this very unique thing to her that is hard to grasp onto at first, but once you do, you become hooked and say to yourself “gee i’m glad I found this band”

I’ve listened to them so much, you would think i’d get tired, but I don’t I guess they’re just one of those bands that keep me wanting to come back for more even if i’ve listened to them 1000 times and those are the kind of bands that I like and will continue to enjoy for a very long time.

Now I know that everyone has different taste in music and you may have a different opinion towards this band and that’s okay, not everyone likes the same thing. I hope that you enjoyed this a bit, I just wanted to write about them, I kinda got inspired and I wanted to share it with you guys.

If you’re a fan of PVRIS feel free to share what your favorite songs are if you like, off the White Noise album if you’ve heard it. For those who haven’t and maybe want to give them a listen here’s a playlist of their songs from the album discussed here: PVRIS-White Noise Album

Jukebox Typewriter (Oct 8, 2018)

The title of this blog post, is an actual name for one of my Spotify playlists, it’s also become one of my favorites as well, I listen to that playlist more than any of my other playlists that I created and i’ve created a lot of playlists believe me. You may wonder why i’m talking about playlists here and well that’s because that’s the topic of today’s post, i’m not really sure why I wrote a whole journal entry on music playlists, but I did and i’ve just finished it as well, it’s not a long journal entry, but it’s a good amount i’d say and I want to write about it, hope that’s alright.

My reasoning on writing about playlists is because I was trying to figure out what to write and I couldn’t quite come up with anything, but I didn’t want to not write anything because as you may all know, I went a long time not writing on here and i’m trying to do my best to not go that long off writing again, even if what i’m writing about isn’t the greatest and so today the topic that I could think about was music and creating playlists. What kinda gave me the idea for it was, I was listening to a playlist of one of my favorite bands named PVRIS (it’s Paris but they have it where the V has replaced the A) I love that band, their music is something special, the writing style they use and just the songs itself off their albums are super incredible, they’re just AMAZING!!

The playlist I was listening to is called This Is PVRIS, it’s a Spotify created playlist with a few of their songs, if you want to check it out, I will leave it for you guys This Is PVRIS you should really give them a listen, they’re great, but anyway listening to their playlist made me want to write about music playlists in general kinda and so that’s what I did and I want to share my latest journal entry on it with you guys.

Original Journal Entry Title: Music (Oct 8, 2018)

Music gee where do I start!? Music just has a way of speaking to you doesn’t it!? You can literally find the perfect playlist for any mood you’re in or you can create your very own playlist with all the songs that you feel speak to you and your mood the most, which is my personal favorite. I use to create music playlists a lot, but for some reason never listened to them once they were created, I was just obsessed with creating them, it wasn’t until recently where I started listening to created playlists, including my own.

My favorite part about creating new music playlists, is well creating them, you would think that creating personal music playlists would be super simple, you have a few songs you want to add to a playlist, you add them, type in a quick title for it and that’s it right!? yeah not for me, whenever I create a new playlist, I put a lot of heart in it, that may sound weird to you guys, but creating personal music playlists is like one of my hobbies, I can’t explain it any other way. To me it’s not just about creating a playlist of your favorite songs.

I feel when creating a playlist with songs in it, it’s like telling a little story within those songs you add to your new playlist and with all stories there’s a title to it and i’m learning that titles are preeety much everything, because that’s how people become drawn and want to know more about it. Choosing the right title for something, is very special because your giving it a name, while also being given a chance to be creative and unique, you know bring something different to the table, when you give something a name (in this case a playlist full of songs a name) you give that playlist it’s own identity and when you give it an identity, you also give your emotions a chance to show and be felt, while also giving your playlist a chance to stand out.

Sometimes we’ll create random playlists just because and that’ll be it, i’ve done that a few times, it just a thing we do when listening to music and it’s normal to do, sometimes you just want a quick playlist, but for me most times I like to be a little creative with it and there’s nothing wrong with that.

(End Of Journal Entry)

P.S. There’s a little backstory on the playlist Jukebox Typewriter, but i’ll probably explain that some other time, I don’t want this blog post to be super long, however I just want to say how much I love the title Jukebox Typewriter. Every time I look at it or listen to the songs off the playlist, I just become very excited and very proud of myself for that name, so yeah it’s one of my favorites 😀 I hope you’re all well and that you all have a goodnight.
