Now Playing….Car Radio By Twenty One Pilots (Part 2!? I Might’ve Discussed This One Already… Let’s Just Call it A Revisit)

Good Afternoon, hope everyone’s doing alright! Now before I actually get to this topic, I’m not exactly sure if I already had a look at this song and spoke upon it, I just wanted to give thoughts to the lyrics and express my thoughts on the possible meaning in my own words of it…..if I already did talk on it sorry if this is a repeat, but if not then cool! Now onto the topic of today…..

Artist: Twenty One Pilots

Song: Car Radio

Album: Vessel

Why are we talking about this song today!? Well truth is…..I just wanted to look at the lyrics of it honestly and see if I can do a proper review on it, in a sense….now just to put this out there in case some of you that do read my posts are reading this now or maybe some of you have just discovered my blog site…..I know I already talked about Twenty One Pilots and I expressed how I’m not a HUGE fan of them, in a sense of I don’t really keep up with them, I do like some of their songs though and I think they’re very talented artists, even though I may not know too much about them, I still enjoy some of the music that they bring to their fans! I also like to think of them as very nice people which I’m sure they are!

Now on to the song that is Car Radio…..I can’t really say when I first heard this song and where I was when I heard it for the very first time, but I do remember hearing for the first time and watching the music video to it if that makes sense!? I can remember watching it on the tv somewhere and seeing Tyler, I believe his name is and him being in a….what looked like a red room on the floor and then randomly jammin’ it out on stage alongside his drummer and friend Josh. That is the best way I can describe ever encountering the song, now when we think of the lyrics or look at the lyrics, there’s a lot of deep meaning obviously to it…..you really feel each emotion that he brings to the song, to highlight a few of the lyrics, first you got the opening which reads:

” I ponder of something great, my lungs will fill and then deflate, they fill with fire, exhale desire, I know it’s dire my time today….I have these thoughts so often I ought, to replace that slot with what I once bought, cause somebody stole my car radio and now I just sit in silence…”

and then the one line I want to add is…..

“Sometimes quiet is violent”

Now with those lines alone, you obviously can see the frustration, well what I would call frustration anyway…that Tyler is delivering here, we all know the whole feeling of becoming hopeful and excited by something and then feeling like you have to dim it down because maybe in the moment, it can feel a little too good to be true right!? Now there’s that line of pondering, where you’re feeling yourself thinking about things a little too much then you probably should, mash that with the line “Sometimes quiet is violent” and you’ll soon find yourself just caught in this moment of just overly thinking, now you’re feeling overwhelmed, you don’t know what to do with yourself and you’re trying everything and anything just to get yourself out of that thought mode…..now we come to the lines that read:

“I’m forced to deal with what I feel, there is no distraction to mask what is real”

This line alone, first let me just say, is probably one of my favorite lines in this song, because it just without warning drops a whole lyric that makes you take a moment to come to the realization of, no matter how much we try and keep our minds distracted from all the worries, doubts, fears, whatever we’re stressing ourselves out about and pretty much says that not even music can be a distraction to what we’re feeling in the current moment that we’re feeling it and it’s a bit odd because a lot of the time we listen to music to escape or just because we love listening to it, but if you really think about it, we tend to only hear a song and sing along to it if we know it or it’s a favorite of ours,

Only do we truly listen to a songs lyrics….when we’re in the state of mind of feeling a certain emotion, if you notice it’s not until we’re feeling a bit crappy or just not having the best of days to where we really hear the lyrics of song, I mean it doesn’t necessarily have to be when you’re feeling low, it could be when you’re happy as well, but a lot of the time we pay attention to the lyrics when the day just feels off…..why is that!? It’s kind of like your ears just know the right moment to listen, the only time we actually truly listen to the lyrics of a song beside on a not so great day, is when we’re listening to it for the very first time, after that we already know the song, we’ll sing to it, do a little dance and just pretty much hear it from then on….we don’t listen to it until a random time calls for it, which is really weird…..

I guess in a sense, maybe we don’t always listen to the lyrics closely because in the moment we don’t need to, we just enjoy it, but it’s when we’re “in our feelings” so to say and I mean that more on the term of just in general, when our minds are becoming to feel as though it’s on an overload setting….where music just knows what it is we need, sometimes we need to force ourselves to deal with sitting in silence and dealing with whatever it is that keeps clouding our minds and trying to get through the issue that we keep trying to avoid and procrastinate on, which is why you’ll find some songs tend to come on more regarding that feeling if that makes sense!?

Like you have different categories for each emotion, guess that’s why we keep making playlists! That aside, Car Radio is literally the song to play when you know how you’re feeling and you just need to allow those feelings to take place as they’re happening, because sometimes that literally all you can do, play a song let it say how you’re feeling and hope that it does it’s job and helps you to feel a bit better in getting whatever it is you needed to get out….out!

Now I know there’s a lot more to the lyrics of Car Radio, but I actually feel I’ve said what I wanted to say with certain lyrics, I also feel like I already discussed on the second verse of this song in one of my old posts can’t tell you if it was the one on Twenty One Pilots or one of my entry post where I would just write on my thoughts, but I feel I brought that up already and so I think I’ve said what I felt I needed to say in a sense to these lyrics, I didn’t know where this was going to go I was just hoping it would make sense as I was going along with it, I just wanted to talk a little on it!

I really love the lyrics to this song, it’s got so much depth to it and it’s like what you expect it to be, it doesn’t give you any idea of being something else then what you see it as, it’s literally just saying “this is me, this is what I’ve been feeling, here you go” this song is not afraid of showing it’s vulnerable and real authentic side here and that is what I love and appreciate about it, It’s one of my favorite songs by the duo and I just love everything about it, it gives you a lot to feel to where you just resonate with it…..if it’s your kind of thing anyway, everyone’s different!

That’s pretty much it, hope you all are enjoying yourselves today!

P.S.

There’s two different versions of this song, I just found that out recently, I’m sure most of you already know about it though, I just thought it was cool!

Creator Spotlight: Oneboredjeu (Mashups)

I feel like it’s been a while since i’ve done one of these, so I thought hey let’s go ahead and write another one, now for those who may just be finding this blog and have come across this one as your first post of mine, i’ll explain a bit just what these kind of post are just in case you’re wondering, now with creator spotlight I like to talk about special creators that I either admire or just really like to where I want to share and have other people check them out as well, it’s pretty simple really, I don’t always do these kind of posts,

It’s always at random and it’s only with specific people that I feel deserve a little more love and who I just want to talk about a bit is all, in today’s post of Creator Spotlight, we shine some light on a creator that i’ve been a fan of for quite some time, now it’s been a bit of a while since i’ve checked out their stuff, it wasn’t until recently that I re discovered them and listened to some of their newer mixes and I gotta say they still got it!!

Now when I say mixes, I mean mashups, if you haven’t heard of them or have listened to any of their stuff I definitely recommend check their content out, because it is the best!! I know there’s a lot of mashup channels out there and i’m sure some of them are good too, but Oneboredjeu (I don’t know how to pronounce their name, but that’s the name of the channel) have probably the best mashup’s i’ve ever heard, literally!!

I don’t know what exactly it is about them, but the way they combine different songs together is just fascinating and it’s not only two songs, they’ve done a whole collage of songs shall I say, it’s just amazing!! Some of the songs that they’ve done so far, you think they wouldn’t go together, but the moment you listen to it, you’d be so mind-boggled just how well some of songs they’ve mashed up works, that you wouldn’t believe it even when listening to it, it’s that good, but you don’t have to take my word for it

Just listen and see for yourself, in some way you’ll be surprised, if you want examples, i’ll share a few of my favorites as well as new ones that i’ve recently checked out and liked in a moment, but if you’re feeling your days going a little weird and you want a little surprise of something good or maybe you want to fool your brain and give it something it’s not expecting, check out Oneboredjeu’s channel, you might just find something there!!

Creators Spotlight: The Flood, Midnight Mind & Paraphernalia (Updated)

Update: Okay so relooking at this, I felt I should change it, so for those reading it how it is now, just know that it won’t be like this later, some things might stay in, but the rest i’m going to try and change around…….

I got to read 3 great posts, by three great writers the other day and I just wanted to write a post about it, it was originally going to be a video that I wanted to do, but I later decided that writing on it would be better, I thought what they did was creative and I thought all of their posts were incredible and I wanted to share it in someway and I hope that’s okay

Just to give you a quick idea on what their post is about, without spoiling anything, they took a song lyric from one of their favorite artist and wrote a story with it, it was very cool, amazing and pretty creative too, very creative actually, they’re are a lot blog posts that i’ve read, but reading theirs, well let’s just say there aren’t much words I can say to describe them, but their way of writing and expression is something truly special!!

I can’t really express what i’m trying to say right now, but it’s good, when you read their posts, you’ll know what I mean right away, but i’m telling they really are amazing writers, but don’t take it from me, read their posts and have a look for yourselves, I think you’ll find it to be really interesting, I sure did!! You can check them and their blogs out here:

The Flood: A Shadow Tilts It’s Head At Me (Sarah’s Post)

Midnight Mind: Spirits In The Dark Are Waiting (Jul’s Post)

Paraphernalia: I Will Let The Wind Go Quietly (Clara’s post)

Just a heads up though when you’re reading, the posts that i’ve shared are hosted ones between the three of them, they did a collaboration post, which means they’ve gone and hosted each others post on their blogs so you’ll be reading them in a different way, but don’t worry they’ve been nice to share the links on their blogs to each others post so you can easily access them once you’re finished reading the one you’ve read, but do go over and share some love and and support toward Sarah, Clara and Jul’s blogs,

I’m pretty sure they’d appreciate it and i’m sure it’d mean a lot to them too, they’re all talented and great writers and I think they deserve for their blogs to be read so if you can and are interested do go check them out!!

Music Song Review/Song Interpretation: Car Radio By Twenty Øne Pilots (Inspired By Accidental Blogger)

This post was originally written Nov 30th (Last Day Of November)

Hi there, so today I want to touch upon something different, today I wanted to talk about a song and kinda breakdown the lyrics to what my interpretation of it is, this might seem familiar, I did one on one of my favorite bands (PVRIS) with their song Same Soul and I wanted to try it again, but with a different band this time. I got this idea from another blogger that I recently found by the name Accidental Blogger and in one of the posts that I read from him, he talks about this duo band that i’m sure most of you might know, but also may not know at the same time and that duo band go by the name of Twenty One Pilots.

They’re pretty well known and some might even say that they’re underrated, others might say they’re overrated, I don’t know everyone has different opinions, but whether you love the band, hate them or just aren’t the biggest fan of theirs, but don’t mind them, you do have to give them some credit, because they really know how to make music and their specific way of making music involves dealing with internal issues like mental illness such as depression and other serious things as well.

Now I wouldn’t call myself a Twenty Øne Pilots fanatic or anything, but I do like them, as well as enjoy their music, at least the ones that i’ve heard anyway. In the blog post that I read, he talked about how Twenty One Pilots are his escape when it comes to music, he listens to them when he’s having one of those days and also on regular days when he’s not, so to pretty much sum up the post, he just really loves the band in general. He said the reason he loves TØP is because and i’m gonna quote exactly what he said “Their music is realistic” now hearing their music you probably would agree with him, I mean I sure do…….listen to some of their lyrics to their songs and tell me if they aren’t deep and real with it too, just saying!?

Anyway moving on to the title of this blog post, let’s talk the song Car Radio and try our best to breakdown the lyrics to it. Now i’m only breaking down a certain part in the song because it had me really think about it when I read it properly, the lyrics are:

“Oh dear, I don’t know if we know why we’re here
Oh my, too deep – please stop thinking
I liked it better when my car had sound
 “

There’s a whole lot more that go with these lyrics, but the reason I want to talk on this one is because when I read it, I was a little taken back, not because of the lyrics, but because when you really think about it after reading that line, you might find yourself thinking “wait why are we actually here!?” and then it might cause you to go into deep thought mode wondering why………but to put that thought aside and really sit with these lyrics, trying to break them down and understand them better, in this whole song if you’ve ever listened to it or if you’ve never heard it before, the whole premise of it from my interpretation is pretty much well…….how do I explain it in a way that would make sense!?……..

Okay think of it this way: You’re trying to sleep at night, you feel relaxed you start to unwind and drift into dreamland, uhh, but wait!! Your mind has other plans for you and those plans are to stay up and contemplate EVERY. SINGLE. THING. yeah……I know, what I just described is basically what the song is about to me, just one sleepless night only, you’re not sleeping, you’re in a car and you have no radio whatsoever, because someone stole it and now you’re stuck with your own thoughts.

Fun fact actually……well not really it’s kinda sad a bit, but the song actually came to life because the front singer of TØP, his name is Tyler and……well here’s a quote from him explaining it which says……..I was late to class and I forgot to lock my door and when I came back out everything had been gutted and stolen out my car.” So yeah, that’s how the song was born.

Let’s move on to the rest of the lyrics that follow the song Car Radio, this is where it gets super super deeep, because in the song he talks about how, because he has no radio in his car, he’s now left thinking……..and we all know what happens when we start thinking and I mean really thinking. It may start fine, you know you think random things like “hmmm I wonder who was the first person to eat a taco and what was their reaction the first time they had it!? Did they love it or did they hate it!?” Then out of nowhere your mind takes a sharp turn down a dark road and now you find yourself thinking of every thought and emotion you thought were long buried, to only realize you didn’t bury them deep enough……….and other random things too. This whole song, is  filled with all the thoughts you can think of, put together into one song which to me is incredible, when you really read into it.

Now there’s a specific part in this song that I want to talk about a bit, because of how deep it is, I was reading it back to myself to kinda get a better understanding so I could interpret it better and I have no words, i’ll try and find some in a second, but first let’s look at the the lyric that i’m talking about which goes:

I’m forced to deal with what I feel
There is no distraction to mask what is real

I know this is just a short line of words, but those lyrics, that lyric alone, is deep and mind blowing. There’s no other way to interpret that, because just by reading that line………you become speechless like……….when I read it, all I could say was, that’s deep and that was it, you don’t need an explanation to what that means because it’s really clear, I could go into it, but it’ll just end up being a whole new topic and I want to try and keep this post from drifting off.

The writing style that TØP have with their songs including Car Radio like, most people wouldn’t even dare try and cross that line, because it’s just too real, not many people want to go that deep because to them, it’s a very scary place to go, only because it forces you to deal with those demons that we all have inside that we just aren’t ready to cope with……….but Twenty Øne Pilots however, yeah they aren’t afraid to go there, because that’s how they work, that’s the writing style they chose to go with and I feel like that’s why a lot of people can relate to them because their music is so relatable, also their personalities are one of a kind which is probably another reason a lot of people like them so much.

I’ve only observed them once when they won I believe two awards, I can’t remember which award show it was, all I know is that they won twice. I feel, it might’ve been for their song stressed out and also maybe breakout duo band or something, I don’t know, don’t quote me on it, but I remember watching them when it was announced that they won and they could not believe it whatsoever, I think they didn’t even have a speech prepared because they they didn’t think they’d win……..but to touch on their personalities from that award show, you can tell that they aren’t for the fame at all, they’re just all for the music and the way they are, their just chilled guys who are very, very humble and don’t really care that much on making it mainstream, because for them again it’s all about the music, which is great because I love it when you have bands or artists that you can really hear and see how much they care about their work and the music that they’re making, that’s the kind of people I like.

Also I was remembering a part in the award show when they won the second time I think and Tyler made Josh say something, I believe he said something along the lines of “I’m trying to get him to talk more, because he doesn’t talk much” i’m not sure if those were his exact words or if it was close to what he said, but I thought that was funny, also I think Tyler was talking more on Josh talking more when it comes to award shows or something but i’m not entirely sure, but yeah, I think i’m gonna have to look more into TØP, because i’ve really enjoyed talking and writing about them, I didn’t think i’d write this much.

If you want to check out the blog post I was talking about, you can find it here: https://writingmyheartout25.wordpress.com/2018/08/26/music-my-escape/ and while you’re looking at that post check out Accidental Blogger’s other posts and show them some love and support as well while you at it, i’m sure they’d really appreciate it, also feel free to share your interpretations on Car Radio if you’ve heard it in the comments below, thank you and I hope you all have a goodnight/morning and or evening.

All The Love ❤ ❤
