Up Next: Now Playing Encanto (Soundtrack)

Happy Tuesday! Hope everyone is having a good/decent day today! I don’t think this is going to be that long of post if I’m being honest, I just wanted to write some quick thoughts down of what is to be expected, now I know we have been speaking about Encanto a lot, I want to apologize about it, but I won’t because I really love the movie and when I really enjoy something I have to talk about it, plus I have yet to really give my thoughts about what my feelings are with the movie Encanto, which I will be doing soon and this time there will be spoilers coming disclaimer so keep a look out for it, in the meantime let’s talk about what’s to come!

Although I’ve spoken a bit on the movie, one of the things that I will be discussing that I have yet to give thoughts on is the soundtrack of the movie, obviously I won’t be going into detail with it here, but just know that I am excited to talk about it! If you haven’t watched the movie, definitely check it out and when you do really take in that soundtrack because it is just…..wonderful one of the best soundtracks in a Disney movie in my opinion…..it’s very different to what we normally get, but it’s still great, like I said I won’t give my full thoughts today, but what I will say is, Encanto’s soundtrack is something I feel wasn’t what everyone expected from it, until we all heard it!

I mean I can only speak for myself, but I do have a feeling that what my reaction was for the soundtrack was probably everyone else’s reaction for those that watched the movie, it could be different who knows, but regardless to the actual feelings of it with everyone else, my feeling’s with it still stays the same, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve sang certain songs from the soundtrack to myself, let’s just say I pretty much know one of the songs by heart now…..not fully, but I’m almost there!

Now what can we expect when discussing the soundtrack, well I will be sharing my honest and best thought about it, what songs are my favorite, which ones I would play the most or least and when I say least that doesn’t mean I don’t like them, I’m just stating it more in a sense of what I feel I’d see myself constantly listening to each song is great in their own way, but I think we all know when we really like a song and when we know we aren’t going to be listening to them often!

Another thing to expect is I will be sharing my own interpretation of each song and what I think they could mean, be it an obvious meaning, one that can be interpreted as more metaphor based or a mix of both, one song I kind of already drew my own interpretation for, which I will share when we get to the topic, I’m also going to try something new and see if I can place to my least to top favorites again, whatever is in the least does not mean the songs are bad, I just want to see if I can create my own top 5-10, I feel that it’ll be a hard one, but I’m going to try and really place these songs to where I feel they fit best with my own top 5-10, we’ll have to see how it goes!

That’s pretty much everything, I still have yet to decide how I want to talk about the soundtrack, I most likely will write a post about it, but I also might make a podcast ep on it or do some kind of video…..not sure, but I’ll figure it out soon! That being said the movie review of it will be a podcast ep that I can’t wait for, but that’s it for this post, hope you have a good rest of the day and stay tune for my thoughts on Encanto’s soundtrack!

Update:

Now I just want to say that although this isn’t my thoughts to the soundtrack just yet, I did finally get around to recording my thoughts for the movie yesterday! There just might be a part two for it as I wasn’t able to talk about some other things that I wanted to share, but most of my thoughts are there, so if you would like to give it a listen, you can find it here!

P.S…I guess there’s a glitch going on again, so if you don’t see the episode automatically, I’ll be sharing the link for the time being, I’ll check again later and see if I can add it….sorry about that!! https://anchor.fm/lexa-marie3/episodes/Lets-Talk-Encanto-Movie-Thoughts-Part-1-Ep–48-e1e6ic5

Let’s Talk: Encanto (Movie Thoughts)

Happy Monday, Good Morning to all those reading this at whatever time you may happen to come across this! In case you’re wondering, I’m feeling a bit energetic today, so I’m trying to keep this energy going in a more productive kind way, also I’ve been singing a lot of Encanto today, as well as in the past few days so that’s another reason for my energetic mode! Hopefully you all are having a good day so far and that you’re keeping as warm as you can with the cold weather that came upon us this past weekend or just keeping warm in general with the fact that it’s starting to really feel like Winter this time around and that you’re all doing okay too!

Alrighty now that we’ve said our Good Mornings and how do you do’s, let’s get into today’s topic….that is Encanto, I know this is about 2 weeks late to when I originally said I was going to do it…..sorry about that, I ended up, not actually being able to do it like I wanted then, plus I ended up becoming quite under the weather those days so that’s why you have yet to hear the episode that I said I’d record.

I’ve still yet to record the episode, but before I do that I wanted to simply write down my thoughts first that way it’s sorta laid out and makes it easier for me to talk about, I’m not sure if I’ll get too detailed on my thoughts here or in the episode when I’m recording we’ll see how it all goes, but without further ado…..let’s talk Disney’s Encanto! Now if you read my last post that I wrote involving Encanto, you would have learned that I did re watch it and I might’ve mentioned getting super emotional about it the second time, if I didn’t well now you know!

I can’t even begin to share my love for this movie and how many times I’ve sang certain songs from it, but it really is a good movie, like if you have yet to watch Encanto, I would definitely recommend checking it out, hands down! It’s quite the experience and the meaning of it isn’t at face value like most movies are, there’s different interpretations you can take from it, even though the main meaning of it is there.

I’m sure we all know that the first viewing of movies and music and all that is different compared to listening or watching something the 2nd or 3rd time around, by then although there is already a knowing of what’s coming and what’s happening, there’s still parts of it that make it feel like you’re watching it for the very first time again and that’s because what you might’ve missed the first time with it, you’re seeing those things a second time for the first time and with the knowledge of really getting to see it all again in full detail, it makes the 3rd viewing of it also slightly new, but not entirely only the perspective of it changes!

What you thought the first time, becomes different the second time adding one perspective on top of another and around the 3rd time….you know what’s coming and you’ve seen everything for the most part, but with those two combined it’s another first time viewing now that you were able to truly experience it all! Now that being said there could be another perspective and interpretation that you gain from those two watches or listen in case you are hearing or listening to it it for the 3rd time, because you enjoyed it that much, but I’m saying it more on the fact of when combining the first and second viewing another first time experience only this time you know a lot more, hopefully all that made sense, I tried wording it the best way I knew how so I’m hoping that it didn’t get too confusing!

ANYWAY…..Encanto has so much to it, it’s the first movie in a very long time that focuses more on family and that isn’t just about a love story, as much as I love my love stories in movies, being the hopeless romantic that I am….but it’s refreshing to see something different and see this different that is also very relatable to your experiences and having that be there whether it wants to be brought up or not! The amount of times that I tried my HARDEST not to cry in the start of the movie, because I already knew what was going to be revealed, is a tough one to count okay….I was holding it all in up until the middle to end like it’s that kind of movie.

Watching Encanto a second time and really taking it all in, hearing the songs all over again and seeing certain scenes, you really do feel the movie and can’t help, but get a little lost with it! You feel for the main character Mirabel and even the other characters that have to deal with the things that they go through, even though I’ve watched it the first and second time I am trying not to spoil things too much here just in case some of you out there have yet to watch it…..

However I can’t promise there will be no spoilers when I do get around to recording the episode that from the looks of it, might just be a bit different to this post, meaning there will be more things said to elaborate on, but this is practically the base of it all until I actually do record and say other thoughts that I haven’t shared here…..I could share it all, but just know it’ll be a long post if I go and do that which is why I’m not going to do that, honestly I do watch to go into more detail voice wise, but I also wanted to jot certain thoughts of it down in writing…..but yes…..Encanto just has it’s own thing to it that if you’re not paying attention you need to, I mean you don’t actually, but it does helps and you learn a lot as well…..

plus who doesn’t want to listen to that soundtrack that I will eventually most likely also do a podcast episode on maybe, I might split it with a post like I’m doing here in the sense of writing out my thoughts of it in detail and sharing those thoughts differently, but the same in an episode or something I’ve still yet to decide on that, but just know I do plan on discussing the soundtrack to Encanto because it’s amazing and needs to be talked about just as much as the movie also I just want to share my personal favorites and my least, but not because their bad, just more on the fact of they would be the ones that I just don’t listen to as much if that makes sense the whole soundtrack is fantastic I just have my favorites that’s all!

Honestly…..I just flipping love this movie, not because it’s relatable and I understand the meaning to it for the most part, but just because it’s got that something that we haven’t seen in a very long time and the fact that the writers and everyone that worked on Encanto went ahead and weren’t afraid to discuss the topic that are shown throughout it and that everything they did was delivered and received well just shows how much they get it, how much people needed that to be out there so it could be understood and realized, take that in whatever way you feel best, but it’s a movie that we didn’t know we needed until it arrived and I could not be any more happy that it’s out and that people feel and can connect with it the way that they have so far that I’ve noticed!

It really is a breath of fresh air and I hope that we continue to get more movies like it, that allow for other people from different cultures to have their stories and way of life to be shown and learned about from other’s perspective so that way, we all get a better understanding of each other all while trying to evolve in the best way possible moving forward…..so far that’s my thoughts that I got for this post, I would say that this specific blog post is of bigger perspective combined with my own thoughts that I had originally and eventually learned more in detail of watching certain videos to others thoughts as well!

I have more to say, I just can’t say it all here, but just be on a lookout for the continuing of Encanto, in a podcast episode with some theories that I found interesting, some of them I felt myself when watching the movie, while with others it was more “I could see that happening” or just because it’s interesting and wanted to talk about it! Also the soundtrack as I stated earlier will be talked about eventually soon that you will know when you see it!

Take care, stay safe and watch Encanto or don’t whatever you feel, but just consider it maybe…..

Muskrat Dreaming….

I have to say this title is probably one of my favorites, I only say that because it’s both made me laugh and smile, although I’ve had a few titles that’s done that soooo maybe their also favorites!? Hope you’re all having a good one today and Good morning from where I’m at, maybe it’s morning where some of you are as well, whatever time of day I hope it’s going well! You’re probably wondering why exactly I’ve titled this Muskrat dreaming, well that’s because I had a dream about well….Technically I had a dream about a Pokemon whose evolve form is based around a Muskrat at least it’s one of his evolve forms, the Pokemon that I’m talking about is Raticate…..

Now I’m not necessarily sure why I had this weird dream where Raticate was in this dream of mine, I mean it could of been a whole different animal for all I know, however when I woke up from the dream, Pokemon was the first thing to pop into my head and Rattata was the first thing I searched…..then I learned that It wasn’t Rattata, but it’s 2nd evolve form Raticate and that’s why we’re having this conversation, also it was what looked like Raticate in real time so yeahh,

Now interestingly this Pokemon known to be apart of the mouse/rodent family has three different inspired animals to it, the first is well if you didn’t guess it a Muskrat, the 2nd is apparently a Guinea Pig and the third is what’s called a Coypu!? I’ve went ahead and looked both the Muskrat and Coypu up because I know what a Guinea Pig looks like and it wasn’t the animal that appeared in my dream so I went ahead and left it out of the research…..the Coypu was definitely not the animal to appear in the dream, I think I would remember it’s teeth….plus the animal had more of a golden/light brown type fur and the Coypu has a more dark brownish fur and that’s not what I saw in the dream

The closest and similar animal to Raticate was a Muskrat and each time I look it up, it becomes more of a winner only difference is it was the Pokemon Raticate in real time and not an actual Muskrat….but if we’re really looking at it, Raticate does get it’s inspiration, well one of it’s main inspiration from the Muskrat so it fits the bill pretty darn well, also looking at the pictures it’s so cute!!

Once I learned which animal was the most similar to Raticate that was in my dream, I went a looked up the meaning of When a Muskrat appears in a dream and was surprised, it was a good thing, well depending on what happened in the dream will determine what exactly it means, sometimes it may not always be a good thing, but in my dream Raticate didn’t get hurt and so I choose to see it as a good sign for something, I don’t remember much of the dream except that I guess at some point Raticate was behind something that came down maybe a tree, it was something large anyway and then came from behind it after it went down and then sat by a bush looking at me kinda….like I said it was a very weird dream, I don’t understand it much, but it was good to see a Pokemon within my dream, odd, but good!

Has anyone ever had video game type dreams before or at least had a little bit of inspiration of video games added within their dream, what were they like!?

Now Playing: Still Alive By Alexz Johnson

Goood Morning, hope you’re all having a good one so far! Today we’re going to finally get to the post that I’ve been meaning to get to, we’re going to be discussing one of my all time favorite artists Alexz Johnson and her latest album Still Alive! Now I’ve been doing a bit of thinking and by a bit of thinking I mean I literally just thought about this a minute ago as I’m writing this post…now the thought here is that I’m going to give my thoughts in a form of writing with each track we take a look at within the album in the best way that I can express them, because for some reason I feel like with this album, I can better explain it in writing then when verbally talking about it.

That being said, I still am going to give other thoughts on it in one of my podcast episodes, well I’m going to try to anyway, I want to express on this album in both a writing sense and as a podcast episode because I feel there’s just so much to this album that is hard to explain in just a few words, plus I thought writing my thoughts on the album would be better than listening to an hour long podcast so to save you all from that we’re going to focus on giving our best thoughts in a blog post instead lol!

First up on the album is a song called Saving The Train:

When I first heard this song I actually didn’t really know how to describe this one, the first verse talks about about learning to let go of certain baggage’s, you know releasing all the things that we find hard to get rid of, be it emotionally, mentally things like that, as for the chorus I still don’t quite know what exactly it means, I felt like it could’ve been related to saving of a relationship in a way, but I’m still trying to figure out what it means, for the most part one of the messages in this song is in order to heal from past situations and just in general, you have to let them go so you have a better and clearer mindset/headspace….It’s a good song!

Next Up…..Chicago:

One of my favorites on the album, this one speaks of going on a journey full of adventure, moving forward, it’s also got a bit of self discovery to it! It’s also got a relationship feel to it, but it’s more rocky this time around, despite all those thoughts, it’s a pretty great song, the bridge is my favorite part she’s got some great vocals there which is why I like it, it’s simple, but still good, the whole songs great really!

Moving on to the third track of the album which is called…..Running With The Devil :

This song is actually one that’s been revisited, as well as Chicago and apparently Saving The Train (which I didn’t actually know) and a couple more that we’ll get to, pretty much this whole album is filled with songs that have been revisited and done differently then it’s original counter part except for maybe 4 songs some are new ones, but Running With The Devil, this one at one point I wasn’t the biggest fan of when I heard the very first version, I didn’t hate it, there was nothing wrong with it, it was just one of those songs that I never listened to that much,

That was until this album came out, now it’s one that is probably one of my if not favorites than most liked, I listen to it more now than I did the original…..there’s a lot that you can take from this song, for me I felt this song to be about facing inner demons, you know like when you just got a lot going on, but you don’t really express on it, it’s also got a hope feeling to it, there’s so much to this song that is just hard to explain so just listen to it and maybe it’ll make better sense, but this is a good song and is worth checking out!

4th track off the album is…..Living In Colour:

Yes that’s how color is meant to be spelled, I’m not trying to be fancy, it’s literally how it’s written on the album and in the UK so it’s right okay! Now that that’s settled…..I flipping love this song, it’s different to what I’m used to from Alexz, but I love it, it’s got a retro vibe going with it, it’s got a groovy sound, it’s such a great song, it’s all about living in the moment of things and just enjoying yourself in whatever you do…..there’s more I’m going to say with it, but later, just know it’s a good one, you might have to listen to it a few times to get into it, but it’s so worth it!

Mambo #5….okay not really, but we are taking a look at track 5 which has got to be one of my all time favorite songs off this album and that song is….. Still Alive:

This is probably one of the best songs off this album it’s soooo good, super emotional of course, she wrote this in tribute to her sister that had passed away from Cancer, it’s just such a beautiful, beautiful song, everyone just needs to give it a listen and check it out for yourself….I’m telling you, you’ll love it!

Moving on to track number 6…..Lost and Found:

This is a good song, I don’t really know how to describe it, but it’s good, I did say this has a feeling about speaking your truth, it’s the only way I knew how to best describe the song, it might have a completely different meaning to it then what I thought it to be, also this is another revisited song that she did, but give this one a listen see what you think!

Track 7….Shout:

This song is different to the one I know, which by that you can probably guess it’s revisited and you’d be right, I remember hearing this version for the first time and just not being used it, I’ve listened to the original so many times, I mean it’s one of my all time favorites and to hear this one, I didn’t know what to expect, which version do I like better!? Both I love the original and really like this version too, I do have to say that some things with it haven’t changed, while other things did! So you’re still getting some of the original listen with it, but you also get something new at the same time which is a nice balance, like they both maybe different in a sense of arrangements and swapped lyrics here and there, but they’re still both great in their own way so I’m with it and I hope you guys give both versions a listen, I love this song!

On to the next one that is track 8…..Swallowed:

Second to last revisited song, Swallowed is an interesting song, the best way I was able to describe this song is similar to what anxiety and paranoia might feel like and I’m only saying that because of the lyrics, when you listen to it, you might sense a worry of many things, so like when she’s singing the lyrics it can sound like she’s having a bit of an overthinking moment happening, however when the chorus kicks in, it fades away, like I said it’s very interesting that for me it’s hard to really put words to it, my interpretation might now actually be what it means, but then again it is my interpretation of it, it’s going to mean something different to everyone, but nonetheless, it’s a pretty nice song and deserves to be listened to!

3rd to to last song, which is track 9 we have a very good song in…..No Shame :

I LOVE THIS SONG! It’s got such an upbeat chill vibe to it to where you just can’t help, but get into the groove of it, I can’t explain this one, just listen it, the lyrics literally speak for themselves, just by hearing the song….you’ll understand why it’s called No Shame, like Alexz knows what she wants with this song, but the way she does it, is clever, it’s tempting this song and I’m HERE for it!

Yaaaay I love talking about this one, I present to you my other favorite song, track 10…..Golden:

This is the other emotional song besides Still Alive, this song is so beautiful and breathtaking, her vocals are just heaven here, literally she’s got sooo much soul in this song and the best part about is it’s for her Daughter, need I say anymore!? I love it, it just leaves you in tears and fills your heart up, this song is literally Golden point blank, seriously listen to it you’ll fall in love with it, I promise, I always get happy when this song comes on, whether I’m sad, happy, just not feeling the day, the minute this song comes on…..my emotions and feelings don’t matter, they don’t exist, all that exist is this song and Alexz Johnson’s vocals with it and that’s the truth!

Last, but certainly not least…..we have the last revisited song on the album and last song of the album…..Weight:

Can I say favorite!? Cause it definitely is, it’s got a really nice message to it, it talks about feeling like you have so much going on like literal Weight that you’re carrying, feeling like you can’t ever catch a breath, but it also talks about not having to carry it all alone that when you need someone to take a bit of the load off, that they’re will always be someone there to be that support, at least that’s my interpretation of it anyway, I sometimes feel it’s got a bit of a different meaning going on with it, but I still feel like that’s what it can mean too! This ones a really good one, like I said it’s one of my favorites and I enjoy singing along to it when it comes on or to myself at times, it’s just that good!

Final Thoughts!?

Listen to the album, take in her beautiful powerful soothing voice, enjoy the lyrics and just bask it in man, it’s definitely one of her best albums, along with A Stranger Time, that was a good album, but Still Alive there’s just something about it that I can’t explain, maybe it’s just Alexz, every time she drops a new album or a song, I love it instantly, I’m probably being bias here, because she’s one of my favorite artist, but she never makes a bad song, even with the songs I don’t really listen to often, I still don’t think of them as bad, sometimes you just have certain songs you prefer more over the others, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re bad, they’re just not ones that are often listened to, this album though is just *chef kiss* beautiful, I think most of you will enjoy it, but that is all my thought for the album, definitely check it out!

P.S.

It’s still May so the anniversary of it still counts, so with that Happy 1 year anniversary Still Alive, I love you!

All The Love ❤ ❤

Today’s Theme Word Is….Why!?

Confused aren’t you!? Yeah I figured I mean who writes that as a title….apparently this girl here! Now I’m not going to ask any why questions, because then it’ll just bring down the mood of things, what I’m going to do instead is try my best to turn it in a way, you might be thinking to yourself what I mean on that…..let me just state that I don’t really know myself I’m just going to go with it here! We have the word Why as our theme and we’re wondering what’s going on with it, well they’re both starter titles of two songs that ended up in my head, one of the songs that started my day was Sabrina Carpenter’s song Why which is one of my favorites by the way, I woke up singing it myself this morning for some random odd reason, didn’t question it, I just simply went with it while it was hanging about.

Then we have the song Why So Serious by Alice Merton, which I just found out is a UK artist a bit of moment ago when I looked up the meaning to the song, because it got stuck in my head, I mean I did listen to it a bit earlier today which could be the reasoning for that, but I also was listening to other songs which means either one of those songs could’ve gotten stuck in my head, but nope just this song so far, not that I’m bothered, I actually really like the song, I was just curious to what it actually meant and I found out what it meant and then I laughed and smiled to myself because it’s meaning is something that is hard for me to get passed, not in a bad way, just more on the sense of taking it as advice in a way, pretty much the song is all about trying to take life less seriously, which is something I always tend to have a bit of an issue with, I do try, but there are times when my mind gets the better of me and makes me worry about the smallest things that I know aren’t necessarily a big thing….it’s just how my mind is okay!

That aside, I like the song, both songs actually, but Why So Serious by Alice Merton is really good song, I just finished discuss a bit about it on my new episode of my podcast, yeah that podcast that I keep mentioning here and there, just to remind you guys in case you want to check it out, speaking of reminders this song is actually written as a reminder for Alice like, she wrote the song as a note for herself, I won’t get too much into because I actually spoke about it in my recent episode, even though I already kind of told you it’s meaning there still is a little bit more too it, not too much, but a bit and I actually think it’s pretty cool how she chooses to go about writing her songs….

I know that obviously everyone writes from personal experience and everything, I mean I like to think that every kind of music has something personal about it….whether it’s by lyrics or just instrumental wise, you can tell a whole lot on what someone is trying to say with an instrument, sure there aren’t any words to interpret it’s meaning and emotion, but if you really listen to an instrument at times you can just feel what it’s trying to communicate, sometimes without realizing it, it can catch you off guard, but I guess we can save that one for another time, because that’s not what this post is about is it!? I mean it can be, but I think I’ll save it for later, I didn’t quite expect it to go that deep there…..but you can always feel what an artist is saying with how well they express through their lyrics and I always love hearing it,

Sometimes it’s one of the best ways you can relate to and Why So Serious is one of those songs that I find myself connecting to a bit, plus you got to love it’s groovy electropop sound to it….I just found out she in the electropop genre, which is pretty cool, I only have one rule with music, I just gotta like it and it has to make sense so I guess that’s two!? As long as I feel the song and connect to it or just enjoy it in general I’m perfectly fine with it and I like Alice Merton, so far, she’s a pretty good artist…..same goes for Sabrina Carpenter she’s got some good songs too and she’s a good actress as well, definitely recommend checking them both out if you never heard of them before or are just curious!

PROMO TIME:

Seriously guys, I get really weird doing this, believe me okay….but I just uploaded a new episode to my podcast talking about Alice Merton and her song Why So Serious as well as some other things so if you want to check that out you can find the episode here: Now Playing…..Why So Serious by Alice Merton on Anchor where I normally record and it’s also on Spotify along with all the other episodes I’ve done *hint, hint* but yeah, check it out if you get curious, alright promo over!

Hope you all are having a good one!

Now Playing….Car Radio By Twenty One Pilots (Part 2!? I Might’ve Discussed This One Already… Let’s Just Call it A Revisit)

Good Afternoon, hope everyone’s doing alright! Now before I actually get to this topic, I’m not exactly sure if I already had a look at this song and spoke upon it, I just wanted to give thoughts to the lyrics and express my thoughts on the possible meaning in my own words of it…..if I already did talk on it sorry if this is a repeat, but if not then cool! Now onto the topic of today…..

Artist: Twenty One Pilots

Song: Car Radio

Album: Vessel

Why are we talking about this song today!? Well truth is…..I just wanted to look at the lyrics of it honestly and see if I can do a proper review on it, in a sense….now just to put this out there in case some of you that do read my posts are reading this now or maybe some of you have just discovered my blog site…..I know I already talked about Twenty One Pilots and I expressed how I’m not a HUGE fan of them, in a sense of I don’t really keep up with them, I do like some of their songs though and I think they’re very talented artists, even though I may not know too much about them, I still enjoy some of the music that they bring to their fans! I also like to think of them as very nice people which I’m sure they are!

Now on to the song that is Car Radio…..I can’t really say when I first heard this song and where I was when I heard it for the very first time, but I do remember hearing for the first time and watching the music video to it if that makes sense!? I can remember watching it on the tv somewhere and seeing Tyler, I believe his name is and him being in a….what looked like a red room on the floor and then randomly jammin’ it out on stage alongside his drummer and friend Josh. That is the best way I can describe ever encountering the song, now when we think of the lyrics or look at the lyrics, there’s a lot of deep meaning obviously to it…..you really feel each emotion that he brings to the song, to highlight a few of the lyrics, first you got the opening which reads:

” I ponder of something great, my lungs will fill and then deflate, they fill with fire, exhale desire, I know it’s dire my time today….I have these thoughts so often I ought, to replace that slot with what I once bought, cause somebody stole my car radio and now I just sit in silence…”

and then the one line I want to add is…..

“Sometimes quiet is violent”

Now with those lines alone, you obviously can see the frustration, well what I would call frustration anyway…that Tyler is delivering here, we all know the whole feeling of becoming hopeful and excited by something and then feeling like you have to dim it down because maybe in the moment, it can feel a little too good to be true right!? Now there’s that line of pondering, where you’re feeling yourself thinking about things a little too much then you probably should, mash that with the line “Sometimes quiet is violent” and you’ll soon find yourself just caught in this moment of just overly thinking, now you’re feeling overwhelmed, you don’t know what to do with yourself and you’re trying everything and anything just to get yourself out of that thought mode…..now we come to the lines that read:

“I’m forced to deal with what I feel, there is no distraction to mask what is real”

This line alone, first let me just say, is probably one of my favorite lines in this song, because it just without warning drops a whole lyric that makes you take a moment to come to the realization of, no matter how much we try and keep our minds distracted from all the worries, doubts, fears, whatever we’re stressing ourselves out about and pretty much says that not even music can be a distraction to what we’re feeling in the current moment that we’re feeling it and it’s a bit odd because a lot of the time we listen to music to escape or just because we love listening to it, but if you really think about it, we tend to only hear a song and sing along to it if we know it or it’s a favorite of ours,

Only do we truly listen to a songs lyrics….when we’re in the state of mind of feeling a certain emotion, if you notice it’s not until we’re feeling a bit crappy or just not having the best of days to where we really hear the lyrics of song, I mean it doesn’t necessarily have to be when you’re feeling low, it could be when you’re happy as well, but a lot of the time we pay attention to the lyrics when the day just feels off…..why is that!? It’s kind of like your ears just know the right moment to listen, the only time we actually truly listen to the lyrics of a song beside on a not so great day, is when we’re listening to it for the very first time, after that we already know the song, we’ll sing to it, do a little dance and just pretty much hear it from then on….we don’t listen to it until a random time calls for it, which is really weird…..

I guess in a sense, maybe we don’t always listen to the lyrics closely because in the moment we don’t need to, we just enjoy it, but it’s when we’re “in our feelings” so to say and I mean that more on the term of just in general, when our minds are becoming to feel as though it’s on an overload setting….where music just knows what it is we need, sometimes we need to force ourselves to deal with sitting in silence and dealing with whatever it is that keeps clouding our minds and trying to get through the issue that we keep trying to avoid and procrastinate on, which is why you’ll find some songs tend to come on more regarding that feeling if that makes sense!?

Like you have different categories for each emotion, guess that’s why we keep making playlists! That aside, Car Radio is literally the song to play when you know how you’re feeling and you just need to allow those feelings to take place as they’re happening, because sometimes that literally all you can do, play a song let it say how you’re feeling and hope that it does it’s job and helps you to feel a bit better in getting whatever it is you needed to get out….out!

Now I know there’s a lot more to the lyrics of Car Radio, but I actually feel I’ve said what I wanted to say with certain lyrics, I also feel like I already discussed on the second verse of this song in one of my old posts can’t tell you if it was the one on Twenty One Pilots or one of my entry post where I would just write on my thoughts, but I feel I brought that up already and so I think I’ve said what I felt I needed to say in a sense to these lyrics, I didn’t know where this was going to go I was just hoping it would make sense as I was going along with it, I just wanted to talk a little on it!

I really love the lyrics to this song, it’s got so much depth to it and it’s like what you expect it to be, it doesn’t give you any idea of being something else then what you see it as, it’s literally just saying “this is me, this is what I’ve been feeling, here you go” this song is not afraid of showing it’s vulnerable and real authentic side here and that is what I love and appreciate about it, It’s one of my favorite songs by the duo and I just love everything about it, it gives you a lot to feel to where you just resonate with it…..if it’s your kind of thing anyway, everyone’s different!

That’s pretty much it, hope you all are enjoying yourselves today!

P.S.

There’s two different versions of this song, I just found that out recently, I’m sure most of you already know about it though, I just thought it was cool!

Let’s Talk: Frozen 2 (Movie Thoughts)

Gooood Morning, although it’s almost close to the afternoon here!! Hope everyone’s well and having a good day, so today I thought I’d talk about a movie that, honestly not going to lie I didn’t think I’d ever discuss upon this movie other than going on about how I never really liked it all that much, but then I was forced to watch the the second part of this movie and it turns out…..I actually really like Frozen 2…..like I REALLY like it, only the second one though, just to be VERY clear about that!! I’m still not all that big of a fan of the very first Frozen movie okay!! It’s an alright movie, but no…*shaking head* nooo, if we have to say something nice about the first movie, well I’ve grown to like Let It Go, yes I know it’s the most popular song of the first Frozen movie, but I got to admit, it’s got good lyrics *Shrugs shoulders*

Let’s talk about the movie that we’re here for though, Frozen 2, the movie that I feel in my opinion has the better soundtrack to the first movie, by better I mean I like more songs from the second movie compared to the first one, now I will say that I’ve watched Frozen 2 twice and have listened to the soundtrack a few couple times…..I even have a few favorites saved on my Spotify so I listen to the tracks quite often, more when they come on randomly or if I want to listen to a specific song I’ll go out of my way and look for it, but yeah, I’ve listened to the soundtrack more times than I’ve watched the movie is what I’m saying!!

Let’s discuss this movie though shall we!? Now this won’t be a movie review because I don’t really know how to do those, so in this post we’re going to, well I’m going to try to describe what my thoughts were, when I first watched this movie, as for the soundtrack, I’ve got different plans for that so I won’t be discussing it here today, but the movie I’m going to do my best to give my thoughts and reaction of it…..so where do we start…..

Well I wasn’t thrilled at first when watching this movie, I didn’t want to watch it because I wasn’t really into the first one, but a friend of mine insisted that we watch it, after I told her I hadn’t seen it, so she went ahead and put it on and I wasn’t able to really escape from watching it with her…..so here we are on Christmas Eve watching Frozen 2, as we’re watching the movie, she keeps telling me I’m gonna like it and I’m like “we’ll see” I wasn’t sure if I would, but as I’m watching it, I find myself kind of getting into it, but I’m not saying anything because I know she’ll bring out the I told you so’s and it was too early to be saying all that, so I continued to see if I would get more into it as it progressed

Halfway into the movie and I’m like “okay it’s not that bad” the songs were really good, you got your funny moments, Olaf is pretty funny, I loved the whole scene where they’re in the forest and he’s looking for Elsa, Anna, Sven and Kristoff and he’s calling for a Samantha and he’s cracking up and says the famous line “I don’t know a Samantha”

I thought that was really funny, I laughed watching it!! I have my own theory or more like an idea on what they can do with that, the whole Samantha bit, but I also thought that maybe they were shouting out one of the people who worked on the movie or, oooor this proclaimed Samantha miiiight just be a foreshadowed character we see later, if they make a third movie, maybe a potential girlfriend for Olaf or just a new character they have in mind to add in the future, I think that’d be pretty cool, we’ll see I guess!!

At this point I’m actually enjoying the movie, I love the little lizard that Elsa befriends in the forest, he’s soooo cute like if I can have him myself I would…..maybe, he’s probably based off a real lizard so that’s why I say maybe…..but he really is cute, I like to think that, he’s Elsa’s new pet and sidekick partner and that! I like what they did with Anna again in this movie, I know she was a significant part in the first movie and they also gave her a significant part in this movie as well…..Elsa’s story is really beautiful, I like how they have the voice be as her guide to her discovering herself

I love how they gave her a spirit animal to help her along the journey that she’s on, that at first she herself isn’t aware of, but later throughout the movie she starts to be come more aware that with the voice that she’s following, how it’s trying to get her to come more into herself and learn something important as well and I guess as I was watching that all unfold, it was getting to me in a way, because I felt a weird connection to this movie and part me kind of didn’t like how I was enjoying this movie, but at the same time, a part of me was happy that I gave this movie a chance to change my mind about Frozen and the whole part at the end that I won’t spoil, here’s hoping I haven’t already spoiled too much already, but the thing at the end that I won’t talk too much about…..I liked it, it was a good choice, I did get emotional watching this movie, I’ll admit it…..okay…..I wasn’t expecting to, but I did and I’m okay with it sooo….

Final Thoughts!?

I have a very big soft spot for Frozen 2, I loved this movie, am I surprised about it!? Yeah because I honestly didn’t think that I would feel connected to it as much as I did, I wasn’t ready to feel this movie on a deeper level, I mean I wasn’t a fan of the first movie so I wasn’t expecting this movie to do much, but it did and I thought it was really good, I liked the story and the deeper meaning that it had and I hate to admit it…..but I’m K.I.N.D.A. obsessed with Frozen 2! Every time I see Frozen anywhere, I’m like “ooh Frozen” always referencing the second movie though, like at one point I didn’t like it one bit and then all of sudden the second movie comes around, I watch it and I’m fan girling than I’ve ever fan girled before in my life with it…..like seriously “Oh how the tables have turned” but it’s fine!

I really like the meaning behind things and the meaning that this movie brings, is the reason I like it so much, plus it’s actually really pretty and I think because they had fall and winter together in this movie, might also be the reason to why I prefer it to the first…..I LOVE the fall season, but also, that soundtrack….I’m looking forward to discussing about it and sharing my thoughts on it, especially that Kristoff track….laughing to myself just thinking about it….don’t worry it’s not that bad!!

P.S.

I don’t believe I shared this episode before, where I spoke upon the soundtrack, if you would like to check it out, here you go: https://anchor.fm/lexa-marie3/episodes/Now-Playing—–Frozen-2-Soundtrack-Ep-5-euuasb (added 2/17/22)

Welcome To The Daydreamer’s Podcast

Happy Saturday, hope you all are having a good day!! Now I know that I haven’t properly talked about this so I thought I’d have this post be the introduction for it…..a late introduction, but an introduction nonetheless!! Now in case a lot of you don’t already know I went ahead and created a podcast, some of you may already know if you’ve read some of my latest posts, but if you didn’t…..I have a podcast now, it’s called Daydreamer’s Podcast and I created it out of curiosity, I was actually writing a post and had just finished posting that post when I saw an opportunity to be able to turn a post into a podcast episode and so that’s exactly what I did, so I kind of have WordPress to thank for giving me the idea of creating one, I only have 2 episodes right now, but so far I’ve been enjoying myself,

I have found that I actually get pretty excited to record the next episode, which is something that comes rarely for me, but this is something I kind of been wanting to do for a bit of a while now, I tend to talk quite a bit and sometimes a lot of the things I want to share can be too long to write in a post and so I thought this was the perfect thing to give a try, It’s something I’ve always thought of doing and it’s something that has literally presented itself to me and why not give it a shot!!

Now the content to my new Podcast is going to be a bit of everything in the sense to the way I do it here on my blog, it’s pretty much interest based, so for example music, video games and sometimes serious topics that I feel I want to share upon and discuss a bit about…..sometimes I’ll even incorporate some blog post topic for the days where I feel I want to express a bit more, the two episodes that are up now were based off two blog posts, but it’s stuff like that! I just want to create a place that everyone can just hang out and hopefully have a good time!! I already recorded a third episode which should be up pretty soon, but if you guys are curious and would like to check out the last two episodes of my podcast, that would really mean a lot to me, you can have a listen to both episodes here:

The Latest Episode:

Ice Breaker (A Blog Post)- Ep. 1

Let’s Talk: 1 Year Of Animal Crossing: New Horizons- Ep. 2

For those who do manage to check it out the podcast, first I just want to say I appreciate it in advance and I hope you all enjoy the episodes that you decide to give a listen to, with that said, Welcome to The Daydreamer’s Podcast, I’ll be your host, Alexa, but you can just call me Lex or Lexa, I prefer it anyway! I hope you’re all able to enjoy the content and atmosphere that I do my best to bring to this podcast, hope I can get some of you to hang around and stay a while!! ^_^

Now Playing: What A Feeling By One Direction (Lyric Observation)

Originally Written March 15th, Finished March 18th

Goooood Afternoon!! Hope everyone’s week is starting off well and that all your weekend’s were nice and enjoyable, hope you all are doing well too….now normally when I do these Now Playing….(Insert song or album here) posts we talk about a specific song and it’s meaning or we look at an album to a favorite artist of mine and give thoughts on the album…..today it’s going to be a liiiittle different, not extremely, it will still be at the core of it’s true heart, discussing music and all that jazz, only this time we’ll be focusing on two lyrics within the same section of the song, to put it in better words…..we’re going to be taking a look at the bridge part of this song….why!?

Well, I woke up singing this part of the song to myself this morning, as it still continues throughout the day and had some thoughts come through with it so that’s what we’re doing today, plus I feel like this will be a fun challenge of some sort to try for myself and see what comes with it!! Now I want to say this isn’t going to be a lyric breakdown, but I’m not sure how true that is so let’s not say that at all….even though I just did….on with the song yeah!?

Now if you were to hear the song as whole and listen to each lyric, you might not know right away it’s true meaning or you may know what it means or at least what it’s trying to say, as we know everyone has their own interpretation when it comes to music, artwork, even life itself, but that’s what keeps things interesting, knowing that everyone sees and hears things differently, if we all heard and saw things the same we wouldn’t have things like miss heard lyrics to laugh at, I love it when people interpret a song lyric that’s different to what it’s actually, it makes for a fun time getting to hear all the different things being heard

Although I do also get a little upset when lyrics are sung wrong, purposely mainly, not all the time, but if you sing a song and happen to sing a part of the lyrics wrong, 9/10 I’m there like “what are you doing, that’s not how the song goes” I’ll then sing the actual lyrics so you know how it’s meant to go, now if you didn’t know and you were just singing the song to what you thought it said, then I won’t bother with you too much….I will not, not bother you, because I’ll still want you to know it’s actual sayings, however I’ll be light hearted about it and laugh at it, call it the perfectionist in me okay…I mainly tend to do this most with music, because I love lyrics so much and so I get a little over protective of it…..

That being said I too have a little fun with messing lyrics up on purpose at times, not always, just when I want to mess with someone or just to make myself laugh….so I’m not one to talk…..now that we’ve gone and discussed that, let’s get to the actual post here, otherwise I’m going to have to change the title of this post to how I feel about miss heard lyrics…maybe we’ll make it a bonus post!

First lyric of the bridge that we’re going to be talking about is the line “Whatever chains is holding you back, holding you back, don’t let ’em tie you down” Now this line is quite obvious to what it’s saying, it’s talking about chains and the weight of them, it’s more metaphorically than literal, but these lyrics to me are expressing a form of overcoming and that could be of anything really, it doesn’t necessarily have to refer to something specific, it’s more of a reassurance that no matter how much things tend to get or how difficult something maybe to pull through, we don’t need to let the chains of what is holding us bound (figuratively) keep us at that low point!

Whenever there’s a will, there is always a way, even when in the moment it doesn’t seem/feel like it, sometimes we just need to think outside the box, as well as look at things from a different perspective to try and see it, even if that means literally going upside (Big Hero 6 reference) there’ll be moments where it may take a while, but it all comes down to just having hope and faith that it’ll be alright in the end!!

Moving on to the next part of the bridge, where we look at the lyrics reading “Whatever change is holding you back, holding you back, tell me you believe in that!? Now I remember listening to this song one time, really listening to the lyrics, all while singing along of course and I remember hearing this line and feeling a little realization, probably because I had just understood the lyrics, well this one at least and was pretty amazed by it!

When you hear the line, there’s a lot of things you might make from it, for me I felt the meaning to be of embracing something, embracing change….for a lot of us, change is a very hard thing, for a very long time I saw as a hard thing myself, still probably do if I’m being honest! The only difference to it now is, I’ve been learning to be okay with allowing things to change in the way that it feels the need to go, revisiting the lines “Whatever change is holding you back, holding you back, tell me you believe in that!?” Whenever Harry sings this line….it’s like he’s pleading with you to feel it….and what I mean by that is, he’s asking you to believe in that change, don’t run from it!

We all get scared when it comes to something that’s new, something we’ve never seen before or felt even and because of those feelings instead of embracing it as we’re meant to…..we run away, even when that something maybe good for us!! We run away out of fear, but not only that, we run out of defense, some of us are very guarded so when it comes to any sort of change we keep it at an arms length reach, however we don’t reach for it to see where it may lead and that’s the thing that hold us back, like the lyric repeats…..it’s not until we dig deep do we realize that maybe the reason we keep running or avoiding change is because we believe in it, in a way “Tell me you believe in that!?”

Tell me, you believe this thing that you’re trying to keep away from….it’s because we believe in the things that we do to why we get scared, why we choose to go the other way instead of just seeing what could be of it!! Here’s the thing though when we believe in something strongly no matter what we do, it’s always going to find a way to us even when we don’t want it to, you can’t run from something that’s chooses to be around, it always finds a way to get you to notice and sooner or later, you find that you do notice!!

Change is an inevitable thing it’s going to happen regardless to how we feel with it, but it doesn’t need to be something that we turn away from all together, we can be scared about it, but we have to trust that whatever happens that it’s going to bring us somewhere nice and somewhere it sees best for us that stuff being things we don’t quite see, but what we feel inside as individuals, we never know what path we’re going to take in life until we’ve gotten there ourselves, maybe not always completely, but we’re always lead in the right direction even when we don’t know it….in each of our journey’s we have something we are holding on to, something that gives us some kind of hope and with that hope we’re feeling something…..we’re believing and are trusting that whatever and wherever our journey’s lead, it’ll all be good, we just got to believe it!!

Now whose to know if that’s exactly what that part of the song means, it might mean something completely different to my interpretation of it, I might have to ask One Direction what the inspiration was behind this song or maybe I’ll just go with my interpretation of it, either way it’s got a meaning!! What’s your take on the lyrics!?

Closely Looking…..

Have you ever looked at a tree closely!? No I don’t mean up close and personal, but more while taking in the scenery around you, but keep your focus on something specific for a good while. To explain it, I like to go in the backyard and sit there for a while, either that or i’ll somewhat pace back and fourth, while doing one of those things, i’ll have my focus on the birds if I see any, sometimes squirrels and most times i’m looking up at the trees,

Yesterday though, I found myself in admiration with the way the trees were, while really glancing at them, I came to the realization that if you look at it long enough, they sorta look like roots…..yes I know trees have roots that they plant themselves in the ground with, but what I mean is that when there’s very little leaves on them, they look roots touching the sky and then I thought about how sometimes brain activity looks like that, scientifically speaking in a way I guess, kinda…..not actually really sure, I know what I mean i’m just not sure if it’s making sense coming out, but we’ll move on….

Lightning when it’s flashing in the sky during a thunderstorm can also look like it actually, which I find interesting, they’re all like root like, as weird as all this may sound…..long story short, I found it fascinating knowing that if you look at a tree that doesn’t have a lot of leaves to it long enough……..it becomes something different and sometimes it’ll remind you of things,

Whether they make sense or not, I also thought with the leaves, on certain parts of the tree, looked kinda like a paint brush, then again that might’ve just been me, I realize this post might look like a scratch on the head,

but the whole point of it, well that I was trying to make I think was that sometimes if you look closely at something, it can give you something interesting and maybe have you look at it a little different to how you might’ve normally seen it before or it might just have you admiring it, giving you a sense of appreciation for it, just a little more deeply…..
