The Different Feelings To Music…….

You ever hear a song and just feel that it fits perfectly with what you expect it to feel like!? It might sound a little confusing to what i’m getting at so i’ll try and explain it in the best way possible……I don’t know if it’s just me, but anytime I hear a certain song and say it’s titled “Sounds of the Evening” just to give an example to what i’m talking about, now when you look at that title, tell me, what to you would an evening sound like if it was somehow turned into music!? Would it be something peaceful and quiet like, maybe there’s a little bit going on, but not too much going on if that makes sense!?

What kind of scenery would you add and if you had to pick an instrument or some kind of sound say being processed to showcase what an evening sounds like to you if it was turned into music what would you pick!? Sometimes when we listen to music it can have this specific way of sounding to where it almost always fits a theme of some sort…..so say you’re having a nice chilled morning, there’s certain songs that can fit well with the kind of morning you’re having, if you’re going for a bit of a walk even,

You’ll find that there’s something to listen to, that’ll go along well with that movement, it’s actually odd cause for me I find that music helps me to take everything in a little better than say if I was walking without music, I actually find that weird…..I can sit without sound, but when it comes to going on a walk, I need to have music playing otherwise it’s going to feel odd and maybe some of you also feel that and maybe some are fine either way, I know everyone’s different…….but I love when i’m listening to something and can feel what the song is and I mean not just lyrics,

but the music itself, it’s even more amazing when there’s no lyrics to it and it’s just the sound to the music, because you then are able to form an imagery to the sound where it just takes you to a place with all these different things……but sometimes, it’s like that when you’re just hearing a song that has words added to it, they say when you close your eyes,

You tend to feel things a lot more deeper than if you were just hearing it or seeing it even and with music you find that it just takes you on this journey when you listen with feeling and that can just make everything so much more beautiful, it’s like how a painting would feel to a painter or just any other admiration that you may have a connection towards, but to be able to listen to a song and truly appreciate these little aspects that it both brings and has to it, is probably one of my favorite things about music!!

Closely Looking…..

Have you ever looked at a tree closely!? No I don’t mean up close and personal, but more while taking in the scenery around you, but keep your focus on something specific for a good while. To explain it, I like to go in the backyard and sit there for a while, either that or i’ll somewhat pace back and fourth, while doing one of those things, i’ll have my focus on the birds if I see any, sometimes squirrels and most times i’m looking up at the trees,

Yesterday though, I found myself in admiration with the way the trees were, while really glancing at them, I came to the realization that if you look at it long enough, they sorta look like roots…..yes I know trees have roots that they plant themselves in the ground with, but what I mean is that when there’s very little leaves on them, they look roots touching the sky and then I thought about how sometimes brain activity looks like that, scientifically speaking in a way I guess, kinda…..not actually really sure, I know what I mean i’m just not sure if it’s making sense coming out, but we’ll move on….

Lightning when it’s flashing in the sky during a thunderstorm can also look like it actually, which I find interesting, they’re all like root like, as weird as all this may sound…..long story short, I found it fascinating knowing that if you look at a tree that doesn’t have a lot of leaves to it long enough……..it becomes something different and sometimes it’ll remind you of things,

Whether they make sense or not, I also thought with the leaves, on certain parts of the tree, looked kinda like a paint brush, then again that might’ve just been me, I realize this post might look like a scratch on the head,

but the whole point of it, well that I was trying to make I think was that sometimes if you look closely at something, it can give you something interesting and maybe have you look at it a little different to how you might’ve normally seen it before or it might just have you admiring it, giving you a sense of appreciation for it, just a little more deeply…..

What’s The Best Way To Tell A Story!?…….

You can tell a story in many different ways, from artwork, pictures, music, anything really, but what’s the best way to tell a story!? This is a question that I literally just came up with and hope to have it be a post for today, my favorite way that I feel you can really tell a story is from music.

You tell a story from the lyrics of the music you’re listening to, most people prefer the instrumentals or beats behind it, but the real gem for me comes from the way the lyrics are written, now i’m not saying all music have great lyrics, there are some songs that don’t really correlate the best with the way the music sounds, but it doesn’t mean there’s no story behind it,

It just sometimes can get lost in the way it’s being delivered, but I guess everyone has their own way of interpreting so we can’t really say much, you can only go with the genre and style of music that feels and is best to you!! If you didn’t already know, I love a great written song, hopefully that line makes sense……apart from a great writing style, i’d be lying if I said that I didn’t also appreciate the way the music gets arrange instrumentally.

Besides having a song that speaks to you or pulls you in with the lyrics, I love it when i’m hearing a song and the music, you know the way the instrumental moments wraps the song up nicely, welcoming it with open arms and just letting it be what it is, but also getting it’s moment to be what it is as well, it’s just wonderful!!

You’re getting to feel the whole essence, the whole journey that the songs goes on and with each instrument or beat if you’re more on that pitch or field……you really start to admire what the song is and what it’s about and knowing all of that, you’ll start to fall in line and space out with it, you can’t go wrong with that kind of combination you know!?

We all have songs though where we listen to it specifically for the lyrics and some just because we love the way it sounds instrumentally, but when you find that combination where both go hand in hand and you feel it from both sides, you know you’re listening to something good!!

That is my take on what I feel to be the best form of storytelling, but again there’s many ways to tell a story, another form that I like is art!! Drawing painting things like that, with art you get to see things in a whole different perspective that isn’t music related…..when you look at a picture, be it portrait or landscape, you are challenged to interpret what it is you see, what you think the painting or picture is trying to say and if you’re able to,

You then have to determine what the feeling of it is and compare it to your own, it can be the same or it might be something completely different. Art gives you the chance to create and interpret how you want to and it let’s you feel what you want without having to give reason or explanation, that’s why I like doodling, I get to make things in an abstract way without letting you know how i’m truly feeling, sometimes we don’t want to talk,

So we talk by making something if we’re able to, you can be in the worst mood and make something, but people won’t know you were in a horrible mood unless you go and tell them, but you don’t have to and that is the beauty of art making, you can create however you please and leave it all up to be interpreted and guessed upon without having to say a word.

So what in your opinion is the best way to tell a story!?
